We got a chance to speak with Hamilton Chu of the newly-formed development studio Giant Bite games. As you know, this is the game house formed by some ex-Halo team and ex-Half Life team members. We expect a lot from them, let's hear what they had to say.So, what prompted you to found Giant Bite Studios? We’d all had fantastic experiences at our previous studios, but there comes a time when you want to give it a shot on your own. After a bit of talking, it was clear that this was a great opportunity to put together an amazing team, so we jumped on it.Can you give us a bit of info on the background of the members of Giant Bite? We’ve put together some very impressively written bios at http://www.giantbite.com/about.htm, if we do say so ourselves… Coming from the Halo and Half-Life teams, as some of the Giant Bite crew have, how do you think that will influence the new game studio? The most important thing that we will bring is our focus on creating highly polished games with world-class production values. Putting together these games and the highly talented teams that develop them is something we all have great experience doing. When you say you will focus on next-gen gaming, do you have a platform in mind? Each platform has its own great features and we’re actively considering all of them. There’re a lot of possibilities for us and we’re very excited by all of them. Can you give us any insight into the type or style of game you will be creating first?Giant Bite’s focus will be on creating highly polished, deep and accessible game play experiences. I know that’s leaving a lot open, but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out more.In light of the last question, do you have any idea of when we can expect some more info on that title you are working on?Well, I’m afraid I can’t announce our announcement. Nor can I announce the announcement of our announcement. J But I promise that the awesome staff at Gamers Reports is going to be totally on top of any information that comes out. I highly recommend you check them out as often as possible. Here’s a question for the game industry folks who read our site, are you guys currently recruiting? We’re not actively recruiting, but we’re always on the lookout for super talented people. If you’re one of them, we definitely want to hear from you. Mail to [email protected], or hop on to our forums at www.giantbite.com!If you could pick one thing that would summarize the philosophy of Giant Bite (your general approaching to gaming), what would it be?Make it good and make it work together. When it comes down to it, how great an experience you game is depends on every single element being of high quality and every single element working together to form a cohesive experience. |
