Since Nintendo can not churn out the DS units fast enough in Japan since the WiFi service launched, the cost of the unit has skyrocketed. The DS now costs at least 29000 Yen almost everywhere, which equates to about $260.00 USD. This will surely fuel many a DS Vs. PSP forum debate. Click on the news title for the store images.

(Thanks, Naomura)What do you think about the basic original Resident Evil game, it would seem like it would be easier to recreate it with the PSP than to have to worry about the different features of the Nintendo DS ?Nakai : As creators we actually realized that it would be more difficult to create a game based on the Nintendo DS requirements with the microphone and the touch screen, but we thought that it could be an original fun experience using those features with a Resident Evil game. We wanted to do that. And then with the wireless side, we bring a whole different style of Resident Evil that you haven’t seen before, 70% of the game is based on the single player side and 30% on the multiplayer side, so multiplayer is still a big part of this game and we wanted to try to create our own special unique Resident Evil experience with that.

Despite the very heavy rumors that have been circulatin gthe net lately, Nintendo of Europe has come out and made a statemtn that there will be no Nintendo DS redesign released in the near-future. This follows, as we said, many claims that a new DS redesign would be revealed in the coming weeks. Oh well.

And those darn zigzag things whose images stay on your brain. These familiar Tetris shapes started a generation of video game fans. Now Nintendo is putting a new spin on the classic with Tetris® DS, available March 20 exclusively for Nintendo DSTM, which incorporates the use of Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's wireless gaming service.
