We all knew that Darth is appearing in the PS3 Soul Calibur IV and Yoda is appearing in the 360 SC4 game. Today though, namco dropped another bomb and confirmed "there is another." The secret sith apprentice of Darth Vader from the upcoming Force Unleashed game will be in both editions of the game! The parent company of Rockstar games today anoune that the first of the Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content that was slated for release soon is now delayed. The content is now scheduled for November 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009. That is a pretty big window. The only reason given for the delay is that it now provides "better balance" to the company's overall release schedule. (Thanks, NWO)

The team behind the sleeper hit Okami, for those who do not know, is now working with Sega to produce four new titles. One of the first will be MadWorld, a comically violent third person adventure. Platinum Games, as they are now called, attended a recent media event, and NextGen sat down with them. This ex-Capcom team of designers and producers includes Atsushi Inaba, Hideki Kamiya and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, who want to enjoy the expanded freedom of their own dev house. See what they have to say about their upcoming plans, and how they are going to take this generation by storm.

Apparently, John Mayer is getting cocky now that he has Jennifer Anniston in his bed. He told Rolling Stone that Guitar Hero fans are "fake wannabees," and that it is like driving an amusement park car on a track. Why he feels that he has to bash gamers who have done nothing to him is beyond us. It is not like the game is churning out guitar players left and right, If he actually took the time to play the game, he would see, it in no way teaches gamers to play the real thing. You just pissed off a large sect of your fans, John. Way to go.

Nielsen Games, a division of the well known TV rating house, recently conducted a study to determine console brand usage in US homes. The two age groups queried were 10-26 year olds and above 26 years old. In the younger demographic, the Xbox360 held the top spot with a 63% share. The Wii garnered a 25% share, and the PS3 just a 12% share.

The play length of gaming sessions were also studied. The PS3 and 360 sessions lasted about 73 minutes, while the Wii sessions lasted about 50 minutes. Gamers played their 360 almost 28 days a month, their PS3 21 days a month, and their Wii 19.6 days a month.

For the older demographic, the PS3 took the top spot, with 52%. The next was the Xbox360 with just 20%. The Wii was even less. You can see the full info at the link, it is in interesting read.

It seems that Tomonobu Itagaki leaving Tecmo has affected not only the legions of loyal fans out there, but the stock value of Tecmo as well. The price took around a 10% hit after it was announced that Itagaki was leaving and filing suit against the president. This can only help his case.
