Yesterday, AMD showed off its new RV770 chip at a press conference with the use of an interactive tech demo/video. As you can see by the video, this is what the card can do when only using one GPU. Could ATI be ready to give AMD a run for the money again? Possibly. It is the first video on the page, by the way, the "Ruby Cinema 2.0 Demo."

nVidia VP of content business development, Roy Taylor, has stated that he believes that home game consoles is going to kill the PC-exclusive game market in the near future. Now, we know this contradicts the title of the post, but he goes on to say this:

"That said, PC gaming is changing - and consoles don't threaten PC gaming. They're just different. Adapting to that and understanding that is what I think is really, really important.

It seems Roy is a bit all over the place. He goes on to say that most PC gamers also own consoles, and that most developers are also coding for PC, as well as Xbox360 and PS3. He claims that since the baseline for most games are now consoles, when the PC editions of games come out, they usually have tweaks and additions that the console versions lack. Makes sense to us, but how much longer the three platforms will stay distinct is anyone's guess.

Over at the official Spore website, the "Sporepedia" is online. This is basically a cataloging of a ton of creatures that some early players of the game have created already, As you can see, the diversity of the organisms you can make in the game is truly astounding. It seems like not one of the hundreds listed is the same. Color us impressed!

Last week we reported that the head of Gas Powered Games Chris Taylor, revealed the first information on Dungeon Siege 3. Well, Taylor has now clarified his comments and says that he was only relating what jhe would like to see in DS3, not that the game is being worked on, apparently. All the features he talked about were just examples of things the game could do differently. If you ask us, he got scolded for spilling the beans too early, and now he is doing damage control. Time will tell.

The original PC game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. did fairly well and garnered a bit of a cult following. Now, the sequel is coming, and if the new engine's technology is to be believed, the game will look amazing. As you can see from the video, the water and dock scene alone is super impressive.

Over at Crackle, buried in an episode of the jace Hall show, at about 4:20 in, there is footage of Duke Nukem Forever, the long-thought-vaporware FPS. Yes, we are not kidding here folks. As you can see, the game looks pretty much run of the mill for an FPS, and considering it is one decade old, we are surprised it looks as good as it does. Holy cow, what else is there to say.

One of the more popular PC dungeon crawlers, Dungeon Siege, is indeed getting a third installment. Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games, spoke to Eurogamer Germany about the upcoming title. He said that the game would do away with the group focus this time, and instead focus on a single hero, similar to his current title, Space Siege. Interesting that a multi-character based game is going to now focus on one player.

"There will be some things that are very much like Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, but some things will be simplified. I am done with multi-character parties; I really think that it's all going to be about a single hero. It's too much to manage."
