According to Gamespot, company president Akihiro Hino revealed that a new RPG is underway at his studio to Japanese website GPara. Hino confirmed that the next game will once again be a role-playing game, and hinted that the RPG will fit snugly into one of the RPG sub-genres. It will be a "cult" favorite apparently. More info when we have it.

Sega has opened the webpage for the US version of Ryu Ga Gotoku, yakuza. The website features the regular video game website fare, or at least it will. As for now it is basically game info and a few screenshots. This game did very well in Japan so we expect it will do fairly well here as well.

So the last Playstation magazine was wrong when they said the last hit for the PS2 would be "Black." SCE is still supporting the PS2 and will be maxing out the hardware to the extreme with GoW2. God of War is one of my favorite action adventure games ever and the latest GameInformer shows us just that, so check out the scans by clicking on the topic link!

Atlus has released the first video of Persona 3. This vid features about half anime and half gameplay, which by the way, looks great. It is cel-shaded but it does not look kiddie at all so check it out. Click on the news title for the video.

Wired has posted an interview with Fumito Ueda, the director of Shadow of the Colossus for the Playstation 2. This game is widely considered to be one of the most artistically impressive games for the Sony machine, and Wired asks Ueda what inspired him. He says at one point that his first game, Ico, is so far from the conventional game design that it can not be considered a video game at all.

It isn't a video game -- a conventional video game has things like a life meter or other icons on the screen. Ico doesn't have these things.

GameInformer got the chance to speak with Clover Studios' Atsushi Inaba about the developer’s upcoming game, Okami. He gives some good insight into the game itself, and towards the end he also mentions Steel Batallion. Although there are no plans to make a next-gen SB game, he says they aren't ruling it out. Sweet, we can buy a new super duper big controller for the Xbox360. He also says that they would like to to a new Viewtiful Joe that has not been done before on the next-gen platforms. A brand new 2D adventure? Sweet.

A few days ago we told you about a new Micro Machines game that was coming out for handhelds and the Playstation 2. Well now we have some screens of the game for you. Don't get too excited, they are not that great looking, but we are sure the fun gameplay is intact. At least, we hope so. Click on the news title for the screens.
