Ex Splatterhouse Developer Responds To Namco Comment >
2009/03/17 15:02:09: Posted by DM
Namco took back development duties for Splatterhouse recently from developer Bottlerocket, as we told you. A Namco exec then commented that the game was brought in-house due to "performance issues" with the developer. Well, now Bottlerocket has responded, calling the publisher (Namco) "inept." Bottlerock claims it never missed any development deadlines or milestones that were stipulated in the contract. They are obviously upset, as you can see below.

"We too have to be careful of what we say since publishers have to worry about their 'image' and will sue small, independent studios who bark back at them too loudly,"

In other words, "we can't say more because we will get sued back to the stone age, even if we are right." Oh well, welcome to the big leagues in a bad economy, boys.
