Wii Updae 4.0, SD & SDHC Menu Added, Homebrew No Update Now > |

A new Wii Firmware is out, version 4.0. Support for 32gb SDHC cards has been added, and there is now an SD card menu accessible from the Wii menu. This is part of Nintendo's storage solution, apparently. Now, games transfered to the SD card can basically be played from the SD card. They are loaded into the Wii memory before play, and nuked after, it seems. If you do not have enough free Wii memory, it will automatically transfer games to the SD card. Neat! Also, you can now download games directly from the Wii Shop Channel to the SD card, finally! There is now a new Virtual Console Arcade menu in the Wii Shop, and it contains a few arcade games. Now the bad news. For you homebrewers, apparently 4.0 somehow breaks the homebrew channel. The word is to wait for a work around before updating if you are nervous about losing functionality. All in all though, sounds great!
