Didn't that jackass Itagaki criticise the use of patches by other developers sometime ago?

Itagaki is anything about a jackass... he's one of the most talented developers out there and since when did he criticize anyone? The hurricane pack for ninja gaiden is basically a patch which was made all out of team ninja's own pocket for the fans one of the many fan services he's known for. He's obviously passionate about his work and why shouldn't he take advantage of how amazing xbox live is?

Meant anything BUT a jackass

I think you got it right the first time. That man IS a jackass. He is extremely conceited and obnoxious, with a pseudo rock-star attitude and has on several ocasions made very negative remarks on his fellow developer's talents. I never claimed he wasn't talented himself though. Nor was i thinking of the hurricane packs as patches. Those were add-ons. More content for an excellent game and i was glad they were released.

Try to get your facts straight before you go and defend this type of jackass.

As for the patch comment...

" "[The] last five percent is the most crucial point in development," Itagaki told the Japanese press, and although he's aware that developers sometimes choose to ship their games and then patch them later, Itagaki related that he "despises" this kind of behaviour. "

There he is refering to known bugs, it is possible they didn't notice the bug during the play test as it does not seem to be a problem for everyone.

The fact of the matter is that they are there. And they are still there in the PAL version, who shipped weeks after the problem was widely known.

Too bad they can't patch the crappy X360 like this. I so want to get one of those (particularly for team ninja's games), but not in the crippled state they are sold. I sure hope they can iron out all the inherant hardware problems with a next revision, but i seriously doubt it.
