The latest issue of Game Informer magazine has a cover story on BioShock, the upcoming first person action-RPG from Irrational Games. This game was initially announced way back in 2004, if you remember. The game will take place in the early 1960's, and you will find yourself stranded in the middle of the ocean, the victim of an apparent plane crash. As you progress through the game, you discover a massive underwater complex called Rapture, which was set up in the 1940s as a kind of utopia (that inevitably failed). BioShock takes place mostly in this complex as you deal with and fight its citizens, and as you progress you can upgrade your character's items and skills, RPG style. The game will even include a crafting system where the player can create new weapons and items. The game is due out for the PC and Xbox 360 (and maybe the PS3) in 2007, more info when we have it.
