Alan Wake Being Published By Microsoft, 360 Exclusive? >
2006/05/04 17:53:16: Posted by DM
According to a post on the TXB forums, Alan Wake is now an XBox630 exclusive, and it is also being published by MS themselves. This, of course, should be taken with a grain of salt, but we have also checked with our resident MS employee, and he has told us that this is indeed true. Stay tuned! (Thanks, Optaviusx)

Wtf? really, come on now Microsoft stopppppp! hoggin the dang ball from sony. I get so pissed off when i see a good game go to a system that i dont own, and be an exclusive

I was really looking foward to this coming out on ps3

ps........3, Now I can understand getting upset over a game going exclusive to a system you don't own. But....technically you don't own a PS3 yet, nobody does....so why be pissed? Hell, after E3 you may decide to get a 360 after all. ;)

Yea this is pretty big news because, this game, despite impressing quite a few people last E3 (even got a couple best of E3 2005 honors) never got a publisher and its officially on paper now that Microsoft has stepped in to publish the title. Fable is also expected to show up at E3 as well not sure in what form though. Could be in trailer form, but I atleast hope we get to see some ingame footage.

forza 2 + halo 3 + fable + too human + mass effect = amazing e3

A pattern is starting to emerge maybe. First lionhead no show gdc, microsoft purchase rumor then confirmed to be true, then remedy entertainment no show at E3, alan wake rumor (i'm sure thats true now), Rockstar no show at E3 (besides table tennis) then gta rumor, still a rumor till its confirmed of course but interesting nonetheless.

forza 2 + halo 3 + fable + too human + mass effect + blue dragon + lost odyssey + shadowrun + crackdown + unannounced ;)

I Dlacy13g, do realize that the ps3 isnt out yet, but from watching the video's of alan wake from last e3, i got excited.I cant wait till next week for e3 06, maybe i will get an Xbox 360 afterward, but probably not until after Halo 3 is released. I wanna see what Elveon, Project Offset, and Assassins Creed have for us at e3.

w00t 360 exclusive! Take that, playstation 3 :D

Let me help that equation:

forza 2 + halo 3 + fable + too human + mass effect + blue dragon + lost odyssey + shadowrun + crackdown + unannounced ;) == playstation 3 + wii owned lol

I don't want a specific company to dominate E3 or gaming as a whole for that matter. Competition is what makes everything better. Had microsoft not pushed its xbox live service we wouldn't be getting the type of ps3 online service that sony plans to relase, same for the wii (damnit lol i refuse to believe wii is the actual name of the nintendo console) I want the ps3 to have an equally impressive showing (it has to have an equally impressive showing). Hell without competition too human might not have had the type of funding it deserved and it probably wouldn't be a trilogy. Who knows if blue dragon, gears of war, mass effect trilogy, lost odyssey would've ever seen the light of day.

Its a result of growing competition. So I hope the competition is tough at E3.

yeah i agree competiton is what keeps things getting better and im glad to see the 360 doing good :P and Lostg Planet looks amazing :P.

competition makes me mad because i dont know what to buy. i can either build a new computer or get a 360. Im hoping E3 will help me decide.

Personally I no longer see jusitification for an expensive computer. There isn't as much diversity on the pc, very few pc games that strive for something new. Too many playing it safe as opposed to taking risks.

There are the few out there like bethesda, id software, epic, and couple others like lionhead. Still what I mean is look at titles like, mass effect, too human, mgs4, blue dragon, lost odyssey, gears of war, ninja gaiden. We know soon computers in terms of graphics capability will put the ps3 and 360 to shame, but the price tradeoff is no longer worth it because look at things like brothers in arms 3. We can get those for much cheaper than we could get an expensive pc.

Also the chances of us getting a title like too human on the pc is next to zero. MGS4 on the pc? We can wish right? God of War? I'm a die hard pc gamer, but the pc gaming industry isn't seeming too attractive right now. Halo 2 to windows vista is an attempt to revitalize things in the pc space, but it is that enough? Imagine if the pc saw halo 3? (not happening for a long time if ever)

Where is our shadow of the colossus on the pc? Pc developers aren't getting creative they are playing it safe you know why? Because look at elder scrolls oblivion only 200,000 pc copies sold whereas 1.5 million 360 copies sold. What happened to the pc? They didn't like the game? No most people downloaded it illegally.

Its becoming harder and harder to make money on the pc unless you make a game like a world of warcraft where people must pay to play and you need an official cd key. ALOT more than 200,000 have oblivion on their pc i'm sure.

Can you imagine a god of war or a game as ambitious as too human on the pc? They wouldn't sell well as well as they deserved to at all (they'd be downloaded off torrents). What happens when a gta title comes to pc? MOst people download it, but on the ps2 it sells through the roof. Crysis? just wait and see how lackluster the sales are (compared to what they would be if it was on the ps3 or 360) EA not bringing crysis to the 360 or ps3 will be the biggest mistake they ever make. Watch how well fear does on the 360 compared to the pc.

maybe your right optiavox... but what i love on pc is the strategy games. I love starcraft and i love warcraft 3. I play warcraft 3 every day on my comp (though it is not pleasant on my shitty computer. Can strategy be brought to the 360? we shall see with LOTR: BFMRII. Otherwise its not there.

Computers have much more practicality too. Its where i do all my work.

to optaviusx:

you are damn rite. A lot of publishers nowadays hop on the 360 waggon . . . . an more will, as long as no modchips are out.

And I personally think that it really is a good thing.

"as long as no modchips are out."

Not to get into it really, but there are hacks out there, and there will be modchips. So this is really just a short term positive.
