Romero Says Modders Are 'Screwing Up Industry' >
2006/05/05 20:02:17: Posted by DM
Apparently John Romero, who thinks everyone still cares what he has to say, has comdemned the modding community for the Oblivion re-rating scandal. He says that modders are 'Screwing up the industry," and that with incidents like Bethesda's nude patch and Rockstar's infamous Hot Coffee mod the industry has suffered so bad it may never recover. We agree it has changed the dynamic of the game industry forever, but we will recover, we always do.

This is like re-rating a Movie just because some Fan added custom scenes to it and made it available in some way. People should stock up on common sense here, seriously.

MODs should not have anything to do with the rating of a game

Mess with Oblivion, Mess with the World. The Mods make the game better, like the new armors(Battle Dress and Dread Armor thumbs up!!!!!!) Immersive Interface, Dremoraville, The Complete Ranger Mod, Pegasus Mdo those are all pieces of art.

Two games have been re-rated due to mods. How many games has the ESRB rated? 2 out of *insert very large number here* isn't too bad if you ask me. It's less than one percent.

Now, let's substitute this knowledge into the statement. It should sound something like this, "Oh no! Less than two percent of games have been re-rated due to 3rd party mods, we're screwed! Abandoned ship!!! Women, children, and has been game designers first!?"

And seriously, modders are screwing up the industry!? As in modders in general? So what was that thing called Counter-Strike? That mod was really popular, how did the industry ever survive such a horrible plague as CS.
