Rare is amazingly talented I'm dying to find out what other games they are working on :) Oh as you posted this DM you reminded me of something :P

This game looked awesome in person too just as good as these screens I had the chance to be next to the rare people playing it at E3

Yea I'm actually planning on purchasing this one just to have in my collection. Plus it might be cool to get away from the more time consuming/hardcore games out there. Which is why the wii will do so well many people don't have the time or the money so they just kick back with the wii.

GRAW, Gears of War those games look great Viva Pinata looks like someone took paper mashay grabbed some paste and threw it at a tv screen. If you are all in the 12-15 age area then by all means feel free to love this game and pokemon fusia as much as you want. But make no mistake the editor is being sarcastic.

Wow you guys cant be serious......in the year 2006 we shouldnt be seeing games that look that horrible. Unless its on your SNes Emulator....then its cool. But then again...if you are into pinatas then this games for you! Viva El ....Colorful..... things to beat?....!!!

Just because it isn't a HD gritty dude with a big gun doesnt make it ugly, fool. Its technically amazing to look at in stills and in motion. I'd suggest that instead of us growing up, perhaps you should and realise you dont have to be 8 years old to apriciate something like this.

I wouldnt call this the best looking game on the console (Rainbow 6: Vegas looks freakin amazing). But, its definitely the brightest and most colourful on the 360...if youre into that.

And, wheres the gui? Is this a FPS? What are you suppose to do? How do you interact with the game?

I think you enter pinatas from behind and thrust slowly untill the pinata breaks open to release the good sweets for the children. kinda like GOW.

It doesn't need to look realistic this game from a technical standpoint is a masterpiece.

People always mistake games like halo 3, gears of war, mass effect as the only games worthy of someone saying wow the graphics are awesome. Blue Dragon is another game not striving for realism, but looks awesome. Basically this game is a mix of pokemon, animal crossing, harvest moon etc. What you do is you work on a garden you can do whatever you want to the garden in an effort to attrack more pinata's to your garden when you get them there you gotta get them to stay find out what they like, find out what other pinatas they may not like so you gotta know how to separate them from eachother. There is alot of things you can do.

*attrack more pinatas. You don't control the pinata's they all do their own thing and do whatever the hell they want. You are just there to keep them happy, but then bad pinata's can show up in the garden and try to cause trouble as well. There will be loads of gameplay packed in. I'm personally going to buy it for my niece (atleast thats the excuse I'll use for wanting to play it myself)

You can take a shovel and start digging into the ground etc.. water plants to have them grow, build stuff... In a way its kinda like sims and spore as well. The pinata's can evolve the whole nine yards. Cut away leaves, make a water hole for them to drink from etc you can do ALOT.

It certainly looks amazingly lame, I'll give it that. I'll take Gears of War please.

I also think this game looks swell. While I wouldn't dress in most of the colors on display, the tone of the game is a happy one, and they are appropriate to the theme. As much as I love my Call of Duty, Need For Speed and Oblivion, I am not so jaded a gamer as to eschew happy gaming.

I think that the 12-15 age group that was mentioned (along with the 16-21 age group) will have the hardest time with this game, as they are diligently striving to prove that they are no longer children. They wouldn't be caught dead playing this game. Those of us who know that we are grown-ups or children, as the case may be, have no need to decry such a jolly-looking game.

Sure, it looks great. But to say it's the single best looking console game is a bit overstating. If you ask me, Heavenly Sword kicks this game's butt so badly in the visual department.

Rare releases a handful of screens with no real info and you guys act like it's the second coming (or... is it? 6/6/6, interesting).

It's a good move to have a game like this for the young ones. You'll be surprised in how many parents did buy their 8 year olds the 360 system, only to be limited to Kameo or a decent sport game. So games like this will sell well if they made more of them.

It looks good! The look on this game is quite unique it's a very bright and colorful world definitely what they need for the target audience they where aiming for.

Itain you just compared heavenly sword to viva pinata... just try to figure out whats wrong with that. Even worse people are saying they'll take gears of war instead as if this game is made to compete with a game like gears of war. Heavenly Sword for one is a different type of game altogether and in the genre that Heavenly Sword occupies its NOT doing as well as it can graphically. This game for the genre it falls into is doing a much better job graphically. Heavenly Sword is in desperate need of some AA and in terms of textures isn't as mindblowing... and character detail (besides the girl) is nothing to brag about. Did you see the part when he cut the guy in the neck? Heavenly was certainly one of the more impressive games at E3, but not because of its graphics.

In a nutshell some people on here are under the impression a game needs to look like gears of war or mass effect to be considered in the (good graphics department) well that isn't the case. Why would a game with an art style such as this.. be expected to look like heavenly sword or anyone of those games? Thats like expecting Blue Dragon to look like Gears.

for this type of game you need would an overhead type perspective. and an onscreen cursor at the least.

which leads me to think that those images are from cut scenes since there are no interface widgets to be seen.

These images aren't cutscenes they are the actual ingame graphics while you are playing. The game doesn't have an interface you are just told what to do by one of the helpers in the garden and as you go along you learn new things. There might be a helper screen menu between switching tools every now and then, but this is the game you're looking at not some cutscene.

As you are digging for example there is never a interface. Go to xboxyde and check the database for gameplay videos.

Microsoft also released a trailer for the game on Xbox Live during E3 where they showed quite a bit of gameplay. The only thing you see is a circular orange and yellow tool tip that shows where you are aiming if you want to do something in the world.

u knwo its funny ppl think rareware is a amazing team ! it was but thats cause all games were also develope by nintendo or under control of nintendo thats why rare fought them and said they wana make their own game which is perfect dark and look what happen to it its a good game but not the best of the bewst which they always do... so any games u saw in history those were helped by nintendo, when rare got bought of 25 ppl left and few of them were the best of the best including the director of golden eye. so now that we see any games on xbox we don't see good games neither best selling games!

Cool concept. It borrows ideas from a bunch of games. Then again most games do, so no biggie.

Does anyone know if there are different environments? Like maybe desert, ocean, beach, arctic etc. The screenshots ive seen are only green forest type settings.

This is MS' Pokemon killer. But, one major thing its lacking is the battle system. Thats a huge part of the appeal of pokemon; train/evolve your pokemon then battle.

No this game was planned back when they were with nintendo, but Nintendo couldn't fund it the way it needed to be funded. Also nixon how wrong you are you'll never truly realize. Nixon do not attempt to judge rare based on a launch title... they were all rushed and none of them were truly taking advantage of the 360's capabilities. Peter Moore said awhile back that rare is making 2 other games which have yet to be revealed.

This game is a great game designed to broaden the market for the xbox360 and there will be people that enjoy this type of game and combined with the tv show kids could really love this and it could end up being #1 on many parents christmas shopping list.

If that wasn't enough do you understand there are tons of dev teams within rare? Many of which wouldn't EVER make a game like Viva Pinata? If you think rare is done or isn't as strong as they were since they left nintendo.. I'll be back to hear your assessment of rare when a new perfect dark comes out or when they reveal their other 360 titles. For the 25 that left there are many more just as technoligically talented and still have great game ideas that stayed. Try to look behind the friendly theme of this game and understand how great this game looks. Its not harvest moon in disguise at all, but it has things similar to harvest moon and many things harvest moon doesn't have.
