Umm is it me, or did the video trailer we've all seen look a lot better/different from these screens?...

Ouch..umm I'm still excited for it but eeek, I'm just going to say it, overall GoW looks more impressive.

yeah, that didnt look that good :/ sony's really killing their rep. :/ it's was just a little under ok for me. it's no where near gears of war's level at all

Looking at the video too that was released today (h_ttp://gamevideos.com/video/id/5233)it still looks really good, just nothing special anymore, visually.

Why the hell do you compare this to Gears of War? This is a completely different game with a completely different atmosphere.. and please do check out the new teaser.

while still good its nowhere near the original or even last E3's trailer level of detail. now hopefully the fanboys will see what many mean when they say that the graphics have been toned down.

and while i agree that the two games are entirely different in gameplay and art direction but i believe many compare them not directly but just in the quality of the graphics because each is considered the best graphical game on each system

Screens look fine to me. People should realise that you can't compare MGS to GoW. Both games are going for completly different looks. If MGS4 looks like this, it's because it's what H. Kojima thinks it should look like.

Anyway... If anyone thinks this game doesn't look good, i suggest you look at the newest trailer. Very impressive.

For the sake of all the 360 fanboys, I pray that G'sOW is good. 99 Nights was hyped for the longest time and fell flat on it's face. If G'sOW fails, what game will you fall back to when there is any mention of PS3 or it's games on this site?

I really hate XBOTS fanboys...for god sake, GOW is realeasing in november 06 while MGS4 will release en november 07. The polish is the last thing they do and i can be sure that MGS4 will be a lot better than GOW in every aspect including graphics.

Yea, I noticed that there's ZERO talk about 99 Nites since release, wtf xbox fanbois? The same thing happend with PDZ and the same will happen when gow releases, but, by that time "The New Game" will be halo3 and all things gow will be forgotten.

And, comparing gow graphically with mgs is like comparing it to Mario Galaxy or SMB Bash. Different styles for different games. Some people dont understand that.

Untangle your knickers ladies. Of course you can compare the proposed best looking games on each system, different art styles or not, GoW appears to be more impressive visually on the whole. The games are not entirely dissimilar in their style anyway. Yes MGS4 has a fair bit of development time, and yes I'm sure it will improve but do not call someone a fanboy as soon as a little criticism is dished out, it makes you look stupid, ecspecially when used in conjuction with the phrase 'xbots'. Comparing games is fine, who cares is MGS4 doesn't come out on top visually, I know for a fact I'll enjoy it more than GoW in the end.

Ive recently seen the MGS4 GC trailer and im sure this will be an impressive game. Graphics are wonderful and gameplay wise looks frenetic. Imagine having to pass through a battlefield with those robots and mercenaries fighting each other. AMAZING!

i honestly don't see a difference in the trailer from E3 06 and this. i mean, really. you guys are grasping for any sign that the PS3 isn't capable of delivering great visuals. you guys are also comparing a game that is coming out *THIS YEAR* to a game that's not coming out for over *12 MONTHS* come on. also, Gears of War has a completely different overall style (more comparable to Doom and Quake), than Metal Gear Solid. if anything, compare Gears to Unreal 2K7, as they are visually similar, and 2K7 is coming out on the PS3.

use those titles as a comparison. that'd be like me comparing Saints Row to Halo 3. both completely different games, with their own unique visual styles.

or like comparing Metal Gear Solid 4 to Final Fantasy XIII. sheesh. it just doesn't end on this site...

I dont know about you guys, but these screens look really good for a game that is still going to be released probably next winter. Sony isn't killing their rep, this game looks to be so much better than MGS3 i cant wait!

they look pretty good. i just have interest in the Metal Gear games and I never have. I could care less for the PS3 until I see some God of War 3. By then the price should have dropped and the devs may have found a way to make the games look good enough to justify blowing my money on a PS3.
