PS3 Region Free Confirmation? >
2006/09/12 9:09:58: Posted by DM
According to a Resistance: Fall Of Man video interview posted on GameVideos, the PS3 may indeed be region free. The sound manager of the game is speaking about multiple language versions of the game, and they go on to say as far as they know, you can put any region disc in any system and have it run. Rumor for now but great to hear!

I see trouble for retailers. If I lived in the UK and the game cost 50 pounds and I can get it for 50US i would get it from the USA.

[POST EDITED]

FREE , BETTER THAN X360 C**P FROM MICROSOFT.

BILL GATES IS IN BANKRUPT BECAUSE X360 , WE WASTE ALL IS MONEY on this c**p.

i'm sure its at the decision of the developers. Just like the xbox 360. Another idea sony stole from microsoft.

Oh and i laugh at the guy that says bill gates is bankrupt because of the 360. You obviously no onthing. Microsoft has about 40 billion to waste on the 360, where the sony has about 6. Xbox 360 can fail, and the generation xbox after that could fail, and i'm sure microsoft still would not notice a real difference in profits.

Haha funny stuff Mr.Mister.

Hmm maybe they're saying it;s region free because the dev kits they have are region free? It might not mean the the final product will be region free...

I think its up to the developer's to decide whether its region-free or not; this is the way it is with PSP games. The vast majority of games wont be restricted, but, you still need to provide that option for developers; in case they decide they want to restrict their game for whatever reason.

Region-free? Sony and customer-care? Lol, right.

My guess: region-locked galore decorated with HDCP and DRM and to finish it, some TCPA and FRITZ-Chips. ;)

this would make me more interested in the ps3 cos of the european prices for games estimated at 100 Euro and the usa prices at $50-$60 i could save over 50 Euro on currency exchange if i import games. nearly all of european's would import games and either the games sales in europe will crash or they will just have to lower prices. but this is good, hope its true

if its region free what's with all the pal bullshit they were saying that will cause the ps3 to miss launch in europe?

aren't they supposed to have 1.5 million by years end?
