GR News: Pete Hines From Bethesda Says No Oblivion Expansion >
2006/09/12 14:28:14: Posted by DM
It is being widely reported around the web that there is an expansion in the works for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion called " Knights of the White Stallion." This stems from a cryptic Gamestop website listing. Well, not being satisfied with rumor, we went directly to the source, Pete Hines V.P. of Marketing and Public Relations Bethesda Softworks, to ask about this expansion. Here is what he had to say:

There’s no expansion in development called Knights of the White Stallion. That’s the name of a quest in Oblivion.

Right now we have no announced plans for any new content, add-ons, or expansions. If that changes, we’ll let folks know.

So there you have it folks, it seems that the listing was an honest mistake. While we have no doubt there will eventually be an expansion, Bethesda is far from ready to announce it.

The rumor was knights of the nine, not Knights of the White Stallion. Maybe next time ask him the right question.

If you look at Gamespot which broke the rumor, or even Kotaku which posted graphics of the sale, both show Knights of the White Stallion as the title.

Yes, that is what Gamespot called it, but the trademarks that were registered, one of them is Knights of the Nine. Thats the original rumor. Jim_uk was correct.

Look up the trademarks that were registered. Also "Right now we have no announced plans for any new content, add-ons, or expansions. If that changes, we’ll let folks know." is just PR speak for we're not telling you, not theres never going to be an expansion.

Actually, ZeniMax Media Inc was the register of the Trademark for Knights of the Nine. A simple search of the Trademark & Patent site would show that. And we all know what Zenimax is tied to ;) Bethesda!

Knights of the Nine is the new content that's added into the PS3 version of Oblivion. I think that is where the confusion started...sorry if this has been said before. PAX
