Peter Moore Talks Wii >
2006/09/28 8:51:50: Posted by DM
At X06, Peter Moore, the outspoken voice of the Xbox360, was asked if he saw the Wii as competition for the XBox360. Speaking to CVG, he replied: "I've gone on record any times in the past as being an admirer of the innovation Nintendo brings and the infamous Wii60 revolution seems to be growing like a trade union. You can buy a 360 and Wii and still have 50 quid spare." Kind words for a potential competitor, true though they may be.

In other words, they don't care what you do, as long as you do it on their operating system :>

Peter Moore knows Nintendo is not a threat to them, the system is too different that anyone who wants the latest graphics and technology will buy a PS3 or 360 so he is just trying to attack Sony. Good luck though 360 is already dead in Japan. Great system though.

I can see what he is doing. Its clear that must if not all gamers this time around will have two systems. Its clear that Wii will be the higher percentage of that two system house hold. He is just trying to make sure that gamers will see that getting the Xbox 360 for high end gaming will make more sense than going the PS3 and Wii route.

I am one of those paying close attention cause the Wii i will get but what to direction to go for my High End needs is the question. It not a clear cut decision.

i'm not getting a Wii, it's too kiddy for me. i already have a high end pc, xbox 360 and i'm getting a ps3 when there's more supplies sometime next year.

i just can't see myself playing mario or zelda. there's better action adventure/rpg than zelda. metroid prime? heh there's gears of war, halo 3 and CoD3.

i just spent 900+ to upgrade my asus motherboard(200.00), intel e6600 cpu(320.00) and 2 gigs(320.00) corsair ram. getting ready for battlefield 2142, crysis and quake wars.

yeah i'm a graphics whore what can i say.

That you are. lol im kidding but still..900 + for an upgrade to a computer will generally be a thing of the past. since console gaming is getting to the point where you wont have to bother with computers and there problems.

i know, that's why i have an xbox 360 and will be getting the ps3. pc gaming will always be my primary form on gaming entertainment. I just can't get enough of counter strike source. i know my new upgrades will probably last me about 2 years maybe more if i push it. and the xbox 360 and ps3 will last me 5+ years.

once the dx10 cards comes out i'll get that too. that alone will cost more than the ps3. =(

the funny thing is that my wife doesn't know about all these upgrades! =) hopefully she won't ask alot of questions when i bring home a new shiny black box(PS3) and place it next to the hdtv in the living room! (telling wife - "babe, it's the new dvd player model from sony. got it on sale at Best Buy!")

In all honesty, Peter Moore is just being honest.

The Playstation 3 is a huge disappointment, while the Wii has actually managed to create a lot of excitement that was not expected.

I mean, who would have thought that the Wii would be capable of generating a lot of excitment: The Wii DOESN'T display high-definition graphics and DOESN'T output true 5.1 digital sound, like the 5-year old original Xbox does!

All of the Wii's excitement is based on the POTENTIALLY fun style of new gameplay. Peter Moore is right, though...will your shoulder appreciate using that style of controller after an hour, though??? It remeains to be seen.

But the Playstation 3: NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...Playstation 3's graphics and sound are a HUGE disappointment!!! The graphics and sound and pricing of the Playstation 3 disappointed a LOT of people at the 2006 E3, even the Playstation magazines and websites!

I think Peter Moore did a nice job of analyzing the situation.

some of the reasons why i'm not getting the Wii is because

1)the old technology and kiddy games

2)i know for a fact my arms/shoulders will get tired after 30 minutes of playing with the Wiimote.
Written by Odins_wrath (214) on 2006/09/28

but you see the trailers of the wii games give off that impression of being very tiring after awhile but the truth is that there are only a few games that would play better if your up and about. most of them you can just sit down and play them like you would any other game.

Wii is going to be great, but its not a system which will appeal to the graphic whores/online game players. They make a big % of the market and Wii wont sell to them.

Atleast wii will gather the FPS players for a good experience

alot better then playing with a regular controller

maybe even better then keyboard mouse combo
