Castlevania Producer Says No To the Wiimote >

In a recent edition of Nintendo Power, there is an interview with Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi. Unfortauntely, he does not have praise for Nintendo's new system. In fact, quite the opposite. Looks like we may not see a Wii Castlevania for a while, folks.

"For me, the Nintendo Wii controller doesn't yet connect with the core gameplay of Castlevania. I definitely don't want to make a game with gimmicky controls where you swing the controller like a whip...

Ah man that is bad news. After playing Zelda I don't see how that could be a bad thing. I think the control scheme in that game is genious. I mean the analog stick in my left hand to one side to move, and the remote in my right hand to another side to attack with.

I dunno, it just feels so natural. I was hoping to see a Castlevania game sometime soon but apparently not.

i understand what he's saying...maybe we can get a contra game instead..

Koji Igarashi is showing his true ignorance in his comments today. The control scheme that Nintendo has chosen is equivalent to the leap into the 3D that Nintendo made with the N64 and Zelda. I personally couldn't care less for another castlevania game UNLESS it was going to have some new innovative control scheme like the Wii Remote and nunchuck. Castlevania hasn't offered anything new for years, so here was his one chance to innovate and he chose not to. Thanks for nothing Koji Igarashi.

grind.. have you read the reviews? Aside from min-/party-type or point and click games, people have been bitching about the control scheme. Take a look at the redsteel reviews to see what i mean.

The devs. havent figured a way to integrate wiimote controls into conventional gaming yet. Zelda doesnt count since that will be reviewed high no matter how sucky the controls.

Glad to see someone agrees w/ me with the Wii. There is nothing spectacular about it. To see people (G4) gushing over a 50 dollar mini game (rayman rabbids) was a serious kick in the junk. The wiimote will get old very soon. Even ultimate tard Nintendo fanboy Adam Sessler complained about prolonged use of the lame controller playing red steel. $250.00 for an "innovative" remote control, no thank you. Castlevania will do just fine w/o it.

it funny Koji Igarashi says he doesn't want to do a whip action control but thats exactly what Wii fans want, this would be a great seller if it came out on the Wii with whip action controls. bad mistake?

Could this mean a FFVII and Castlevania for the PS3?

Sweet...
