Sony Says No To Frequency & Other Music Games On PSP >
2007/01/04 16:10:53: Posted by DM
Why Sony is denying games like the Frequency sequel and a new music game called Traxion for the PSP is beyond us, but according to a conversation IGN recently had with Harmonix, the team behind Frequency, this is just what Soy is doing. Apparently Harmonix proposed a sequel to Frequency and Amplitude on the handheld, but SOny gave it the veto. On top of that the other music game heading to the PSP by Lucasarts, Traxion, has also been axed. This game would have even allowed players to import their own music. All we can think of is that Sony wants these titles for the PS3 store to help sell systems.

This seems to be a very bad thing for PSP owners. I don't know why Sony always has to be so greedy in ways that end up catching up to them and costing them hundreds of millions of dollars. For example, rather than saying, "we will use the MP3 standard, like everyone else," Sony said, "we will come up with our own compression standard that won't work with MP3." Well, that ended up blowing up in Sony's face, and now they are forced to use MP3 technology anyways. That is the same sort of thing that is happening with Blu-ray technology.

I actually spend more time playing Gameboy Advance portable games than any other kind of portable game. Seeing all of those games coming from 8-bit and 16-bit systems, with improved graphics is pretty cool!

I don't really like the idea of the PSP, because it is like I am playing PS2 games, but with worse graphics in much lower resolution. I don't like it that Sony decides not to include quality features like this.

So if you don't like psp in the first place why care about that topic at all?

It would be much better on consoles, especially xbox 360 mind you guitar hero rox, but of course we all know that coming from you
