According to Xbox360Fanboy, the latest issue of the official Playstation Magazine is reporting that Capcom is indeed bringing Devil May Cry to the Xbox360. This is one of the most prevalent rumors on the net these days, but if this report is true, it could lend a ton of creedence to the rumor. Of course, rumor tag still, but the evidence is piling up. Also, if you take into account Capcom's big success so far on MS's new console, you have a pretty convincing argument.Update: The news link changed the source magazine to PSM magazine, not OPM.

Well i hope its true as i have a xbox360 but if it aint when some better games come out for the ps3 i will buy one.
Written by Nemesis IX on 2007/01/27
most likely true even if its not official, capcom seem to like the 360 and all there games have sold really well so to them it will be another million selling game for the 360. i wonder who will call me an idiot for saying that.

I agree with you man. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this game on the 360.

Hold Up! This seems like BS because OPM has been canned, heck! i've got the last issue to prove it. Anyway i wouldn't be shocked if it was true and it would be awesome for 360 owners.

ive already said many times in this site that Capcom is moving to a different business model, one that includes all of their projects being multi-platform kinda like how EA runs things. DMC4 going to the 360 is not a surprise, just like how some 360 exclusives coming to other platforms wont be surprise either. Even Lost Planet's lead designer said that bringing the franchise to other platforms is something that they'd probably have to do in the future. Basically, if this rumor is true, then Capcom has officially gone multi-platform.
Expect this next-gen to have little exclusive titles coming from 3rd-parties, just because of the cost of development on one platform and that all of the consoles are now really popular and not just one (i.e. last generation, the PS2 was the most popular video game console). This growth in popularity means that developers now dont have a sure fire chance at making lots of money if they stick to one platform, but they will have a chance if they make the game for more than one platform.

PSM3 is not the "Official" PlayStation magazine in the UK and is published by the same company that issues the Official Xbox 360 magazine, Future.
Also the mag is not strictly a SONY thing, they have had adverts for other systems games in it before actually, especially Microsoft games.

You have to wonder how the port will be, Itsuno even said it will use some effects that will use the PS3 cell CPU, so you gotta wonder about the transition, anyay i say i fits gonna be made for that system, stick with that, especially since ps3 and 360 operates their shit differentely

There was never any doubt that Devil May Cry would appear on the Xbox 360. Capcom had plans to bring a Devil May Cry game to the original Xbox, but Microsoft insisted that they work on the Xbox 360 instead. Whenever Capcom/Konami/Sega/Midway/Ubisoft say that they have "not yet annnounced" games like DMC4, MGS4, VF5, Unreal Tournament 2007, and Assassins Creed, then that is a nice way of saying, "Sony paid us to announce the game for the Playstation 3 first, so we cannot 'Officially' announce the game for the Xbox 360 until a certain amount of time has passed." But the rumors with DMC4 were too strong all along, just like with Assassins Creed and Unreal 3.

awesome if true! like i said before im a devil may cry fanatic . and if the xbox gets its then they sold an another xbox. i would much rather buy an xbox than a ps3 right now anyways

Yeah, you could say how happy you were about this news and you'll get attacked. I'm sure it's still coming.

I think the most important thing is that DMC is going to be released for the Xbox 360, and it wouldn't surprise me if some type of official announcement in the form of a meeting or show is not far behind. That would be a great spot to show the actual game and give screen shots.

@ otoolelol i bet you was one of those guys who believed the rumors that surfaced not too long about about okami and godhand comming to 360.... what happen to that?:-(
Written by daveydz3 on 2007/01/29
we'll see right? i've never played a DMC game ever but i'm sure its a good franchise as there seems to be a lot of fans. if it does in fact come to the 360, i'll try it out hopefully with a demo.

LET THE WAITING GAME START, IT WOULD BE NO SUPRISE IF IT WENT MULTIPLATFORM
Written by Tender on 2007/01/29
To Sky:Or Unreal Tournement 3 and Assasins Creed..........Oh........
Written by LiK on 2007/01/29
this is no surprise if it happens. Capcom needs to make money and the 360 has been very successful for them
Written by Kenny K on 2007/01/29
Fishcake, yes, DMC4 is being specifically coded for the Cell. however every code has to be like that, the Cell is one of those chipsets where it has to be tailered very specifically or everything will grind to a halt. this doesnt mean in any way that it cant or wont come to the 360, especially when you consider the engine running DMC4 was developed on the 360 (LP engine).
also im surprised no one noticed or mentioned this yet, but this "report" in the PSM is part of the rumor section. its not revealed under any news heading, so it means very little right now IMHO. i can care less regardless, if it happens great, if not then oh well life goes on. loved 1 and 3 (2 sucked) but from what i have seen so far DMC4 looks nice but seems like more of the same.
Written by jlemdon on 2007/01/29
@kenny K I noticed the similarities with DMC4 and Lost planet they both are using the Havok engine. DMC developers are just using the same Lost Planet engine but modifying it.
Written by Kenny K on 2007/01/29
well yeah of course they have to modify and optimize the code to use on the ps3 but at it's base the core engine was built on the 360 meaning that it would be far easier to port DMC4 to the 360 then some think. besides IMHO, Lost Planet looks like a more taxing game then DMC4 anyways. dozens of creatures on the creen (small and large), particle effects out the wazoo (snow, explosions, sparks, etc), throw it all together with a solid frame rate and lost planet is one impressive game
Written by NUTTSACK on 2007/01/29
Sky: Hey I can wish. It will be just another reason to justify my purchase of the 360. And yet another reason not to rush out and buy a PS3...
Written by maddcoder on 2007/01/29
why did they build the devil may cry engine on the 360? i'm confused. maybe kenny k has some input?as for lost planet, that game rocks!
Written by otoole on 2007/01/29
um sky i dont care for okami or godhand. never heard of godhand. I dont really like japanese games. That doesnt mean i cant admit DMC is coming to the 360... oficially.
officially
Written by Kenny K on 2007/01/30
maddcoder, the base engine used for RE5 and DMC4 is the Lost Planet engine. A while ago capcom announced that they were adapting the lost planet engine for the PS3 and that the Lost Planet engine was going to be their primary next gen engine.
