PRESS RELEASE

LONDON – JANUARY 29, 2007 – Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment industry publisher and developer, today announced that Hour of Victory™, a new cinematic, first person shooter experience set in World War II, is currently in development exclusively for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and is expected to be available this summer.

Built using the powerful Unreal® Engine 3.0, Hour of Victory combines authentic details from historic World War II battles and adds in frenetic and cinematic gameplay. Gamers are able to play each level in the style they choose, whether as a covert operative, specializing in stealth and sabotage; a British commando proficient in the guns-blazing frontal assault; or an Army ranger who excels in sniping and demolitions. Players will also be able to take control of any vehicle on the battlefield as they sharpen their skills to impact the key battles from the European and North African Theaters.

“Hour of Victory is an entirely new World War II experience designed exclusively for the Xbox 360 that will place players in a pivotal role during key battles using the gameplay style they choose,” said Matt Booty, senior vice president, worldwide studios, Midway. “Using the powerful Unreal Engine 3.0 we’re able to create exciting, cinematic moments that allow players to feel like a hero, not just another cog in the war machine.”

i never get tired of WWII games. that's just me, i love shooters. But I don't like team based games like Brothers in Arms. I can't wait for summer 2007, damn, there's too many good games coming out for the 360 this year!! =)

Response to maddcoder:

This is another great example of how the Xbox 360 gets exclusive games that are going to be awesome! Microsoft has over 10 million systems that have been sold, and they basically tell the third-party game companies that if they develop a game exclusively for the Xbox 360 then there will be virtually no licensing fee, whereas if a game is released multiplatform there will be a standard licensing fee. Sony, however, is still tremendously arrogant, even though the Playstation 3 has only sold about 1.5 million systems. Sony still insists that third-party companies pay a high royalty fee, whether the game is released as a PS exclusive or not. That is why we will see very few Playstation 3 exclusives from now on, but we will continue to see more and more Xbox 360 exclusives...it is simply a matter of money, and the Xbox 360 offers more money to third-party game developers when games are released as exclusives.

From a game point of view, I think that this will probably be just as popular as Call of Duty 2 as a shooting game...probably even more popular, because it will have even better graphics. I agree with you that the Xbox 360 has a HUGE number of amazing games being released this year!!!

now this isn't my final judgement as i haven't played a demo yet, but it seems very arcade-ish. i'll probably play as a sniper though, i enjoy sniper.

i like arcadie shooters. i don't like those games that are too realistic like rainbow 6. i mean it's still a great game, but not my kinda game.
