man, 360 version info still a secret...
Written by sicbud on 2007/02/20

Finally! I get to buy a new game for my ps3!
Written by Unbiased Technology Professor on 2007/02/20

Yeah, I am with MAKAVELI on this one. I think it makes more sense to wait a few months for the Xbox 360 version that will include things like online play and rumble/vibration.

I work hard for my money, and I don't like the idea of spending $59.99 for version B without online play or vibration, when version C with online play is right around the corner...especially since there is an Old Spice challenge for the Xbox 360 right now, and I am concentrating on scoring a lot of points, not just on playing one game in particular.
Written by sicbud on 2007/02/20

God your such a fanboy UTB it's not even funny. Yes, it would be nice to have online play, but rumble isn't that great.

Id rather pay $60 now and play the game now, instead of waiting 6-7 months to play it on the xbox360.

If the game is amazing, then i might think about picking it up on the xbox360, but i doubt it.
Written by Game_Demon on 2007/02/20

Tsk, tsk, tsk I see u haven't change your ways UTP. Copy/Paste my last response on the live thing:

"Wow UTP, I can now make 2 LOGICAL conclusions about u.

1) U have no idea what VF is.

2) U have no idea what lag is.

I give u the correct answers starting with the 2nd part.

Even if the framerate of the game becomes 30fps (from the normal 60fps) while playing online, u can't tell the difference. The human eye (acually the human brain) can only catch 24 frames a second. And anyone that knows about online, knows that 30fps is actually good latency. LIVE service is not delivering 60fps, get over it.

VF is a game that can be played only in 60fps. Any average VF player knows the frame data of his favorite players, and key frame data of all the characters in the game (and potential opponents), that's more than 1000 numbers stored in the brain of an AVERAGE VF player. This way he constructs the flowcharts that he uses while playing. This is how AM2 designed the game, and this is the essence of VF. Even the japanese arcade VF5 was denied (the horror) online play, (yes japanese arcades have excellent online capabilities).

AM2 (and Sega) will loose face if she gave online play for VF5. Even the VF players don't want online service for VF5 (or any VF for that reason). U can say it's just an option for those who choose to play VF online, and option is a good thing, right? right? WRONG because it splits the fighting games community in two. And sega knows that and doesn't want that.

The only ones who want that are 360 fanboys. They don't even want to play the game, just brag about it. It's sad.

NOT GONNA HAPPEN

I belong to the fighting games community, do u UTP? I consider myself veteran in fighting games, I was here since "Karate Champ" (watch the movie "Bloodsport" to find out what this is). In fighting game issues don't bother arguing with me. I'm not just some guy who read the 1UP piece. I'm more fit than u to draw LOGICAL concusions for VF."

That should cover it (again).

Also VF is virtually unplayable for 360, no VF player with a bit of self-respect would submit himself to the agony of playing VF with the good for nothing 360 d-pad. The sixaxis gets the job done (as the dualshock did) and with PS3 you have the option to use the excellent Virtua Stick, or HORI Fighting Stick 3, or HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick 3.

Stop trying to convince people to buy the 6-month later release of VF for the 360 for its live play, vibration, achievements or whatever.
Written by LiK on 2007/02/20

Game is right about one thing. SEGA cofnirmed that no online play will exist for the VF series until the internet is lag-free.

but i am gonna wait cuz i wanna see what the reviews say about the 360 version which uses the version C board. they made refinements to the engine and i'd like to se how it stands up compared to the PS3 version.

@@@@@ Game demon

I DONT know which drug you are smoking but i can see the difference between 30 and 60fps. 30 is almost movie like , 60fps is more life like motion.

I give you an example , see the a movie in Hd-dvd at the same time as you see the director being intervied about it , you can see the difference in frames between the movie and the lifelike director speaking behind the cameras.

p.s I would love to play VF in online mode.

Anyway , it would be good that he could diferenciate the 30 and 60fps....the money we would save in graphic cards to play obvilion lollolllll

About the x360 controler:

This is patethic man , your talk seems to coming from a ms hater if not a ps3 fanboy.
Written by sicbud on 2007/02/20

WoW, someone has been taking xbot classes from the UTB.
Written by MAKAVELI on 2007/02/20

Someone been wasting GR Forums space.
Written by sicbud on 2007/02/20

The human eye can actually process 74FPS so it isn't just you who can see a difference. And for a fighting game you need to have the highest FPS as possble.

And VF would def. not be able to perform at 60FPS on Live. So I really don't know if they will have online in the xbox360 version. Although, I hope it does so all of you will shutup.

I just picked up VF5 for the PS3 and I'm loving it so far! I highly recommend it if you are into the VF series. And wouldn't wait 6-7 months just to play it on the 360.

@@@@@ SICbud

"WoW, someone has been taking xbot classes from the UTB. "

If this is pointed at me , i can only say that you are wrong.

I own a xbox 360 even before i register where at GR , i read a lot trough the net and that most of my modest knolegde came from.

Mr: unbisead PROfessor is a realy nice person to talk about consoles , I respect him higly , even when he exagerated a bit in his rants.

I dont understand your rants against me , i never said that i was the only to spot the difference , oh WAIT YOU ARE SMOKING THE SAME drug as Game Demon?
Written by Nemesis IX on 2007/02/20

if your going to be smart sicbud the HUMAN eye can process over 214 FPS but can only recognise 72 FPS.
Written by Game_Demon on 2007/02/20

@ sicbud

I never heard about the 74fps thing, I'll look it up.

@ MAKAVELI

You may have a point here but still, MY point stands (and Lik backs me up): No lag free internet=no Live for VF end of story.

And I personally with my not so great eyesight can tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, however it's not always that obvious. For instance good luck figuring out the framerate of CvS2 (sprites are at 30 fps while backrounds, hadokens, etc are at 60fps).

The things I said on the 360 controller is the fighting games community's conclusion (based on DOA4), not mine. I personally use a stick for fighting games (the professional's choice). The 360 joypad is one of the best pads around, really it is. However its cross is a disappointment (you play fighting games with the cross, not the analog, right? RIGHT?). So tell me, how are u gonna play VF on 360?

(in my post by "d-pad" I meant the cross not the whole joypad)

And Sega had better update PS3's B version to C in due time (or she'll be sorry) :P
Written by Sky on 2007/02/20

@ game_demon

i agree with your post...it will be extremly difficult to have VF on live because of the simple fact that timing is everything in that game.. also i just watched game trailers VF5 review (9.1) and they said the exact same thing.. also on the controls i agree with that too.. playing street fighter on the 360 controller sucks... the controller isent built for fighting games.. the ps3 IMO is better suited.. plus on the ps3 you have the option to use an arcade pad
Written by MAKAVELI on 2007/02/20

yes sky tell us why the ps3 is so cheap too.

and own much comision you earn for evey unit you sell?
Written by Sky on 2007/02/20

@ mak

since when do people get flamed for telling the truth? you act like im making this shit up..

lol and the ps3 isent cheap at all... its the future of gaming... without it.. the market wouldent expand... sony doing an excellent job with expanding the market and taking risks my establishing new ..rare IP's like LAIR ( somthing you will never see on the 360) or Motorstorm.. the reason I like sony more is because they offer and push a wide variety of titles.. that spread from different genre's... im not forced to play a handful a shooters.. sony doesent rely on 1 type of game to pull them.. if u take 1 exclusive franchise away from MS (halo) the 360 wouldent be shit... sad but true.....

if MS were to announced halo 3 was cancelled.. the 360 will never reach 20 mil sold...... OUCH

will=would
Written by MAKAVELI on 2007/02/20

ok mr sales man , i will thing in buy one , when you actualy drop that crazy prices.

Good point Sky, w/o Halo and Halo 2, the Xbox wouldn't have survived and it's questionable that the 360 would exist. A lot of people bought the 360 for Halo 3. I think that your statement about variety is right on. That being said, I think the 360 is getting a wider variety of games, but their better titles tend to be shooters. (which I love)

Have you guys played Virtua Fighter 5 on the Playstation 3?

It SUCKS compared to Virtua Fighter 4 on the Playstation 2!!!

Virtua Fighter 5 does NOT let you place your characters with custom created outfits on memory cards to take to your friend’s house, like the Playstation 2 version of Virtua Fighter 4 did!

And Virtua Fighter 5 doesn't let you get on the Internet in ANY way!!!

What's worse is that the game takes up 2GB of storage space on your hard drive, and it STILL has terribly loooong load times during the fights while you are playing!!!

This means that if you take the time to make a custom character in Virtua Fighter 5 for the Playstation 3, you won't be able to take that character over to your friends house to play against his custom characters. The ONLY way you will be able to have your custom characters play against the custom characters of your friends is if you let your friend build custom characters on your Playstation 3!!! And it would take HOURS for you to let your friend go get all the custom stuff, and gain experience, and do all of that!!!

It SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only hope that the websites and magazines are correct when they say that those problems will be corrected in the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5.
