Rare spoke with GI from the Game Devs Conf and revealed that we can all expect more Viva Pinata in the near future. The Perfect Dark dev promised that they would be supporting the quirky Animal-Crossing-esque game for at least another two to three years. Viva, for those who do not know, is a family oriented game which has been doing very well, even among adults. The spectacular graphics and simple, addictive game play is a winning combo.

Rare has won a lot of awards for Innovative Gameplay with the great job they did on Viva Piniata; that is a game that received a lot of great reviews.I think it is great the way that Rare is back on top now that we see great news like this about Viva Piniata, and just the other day we saw that Rare's Perfect Dark Zero is still one of the Top Ten Xbox Live games of all time. Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power are both Platinum Hit best-sellers, and they are great examples of why we should be looking forward to seeing even more great software titles from Rare in the future.Rare always has been a great software company, and they always will be. Microsoft was smart to have purchased the Rare corporation and all of its franchises.

Dood, you're nuts. Perfect Dark Zero was garbage that only sold well because it was a launch game. If it was released in 2006, the story would have been very different. However Viva and Kameo are amazing titles. Fun for young and old, especially with the fun co-op spins they put in there. 2 out of 3 ain't bad at all.

Response to Rubix42:If you take a look at magazines and websites out there like Gamespot, which is one of the most reliable websites out there, Perfect Dark Zero received their Editors's Choice Award, which is something no Playstation 3 game has done.Soooo, the questions is, am I nuts, or are you nuts???...Dude! <--- That is how you spell it correctly!
Note: Proper spelling is often an indicator of a person's Intelligence Quotient measurement. Thus, if a person spells too poorly, they could be considered, "nuts," perhaps in a way that would prevent that person from realizing that something wonderful, such as a great game like Perfect Dark Zero, IS WONDERFUL!!!

Ummmm, I spell it Dood on purpose, as it makes the word more fun to me. I also pronounce it with the "oo" sounding like moo without an M. Try it, I bet youll fall in love. But thanks for the tip on my IQ, the path to enlightenment comes from continual self improvement they say.By the way, what does any of this have to do with Playstation 3 and Editor's Choice Awrds?? I believe that if Perfect Dark Zero was released last year, it would do about as well as Prey did. As in, not very well. Oh and at least I could bring myself to finish Prey. After 11 levels of repetition and predictible AI, I found PDZ to be lacking, and was so bored I was unable to complete the game. Now, we are allowed to disagree, these are opinions we're posting, and bringing suspect reviews into question without offering compelling reasons of your own to like the game, I find it about as original as the guy in the bar that is shamed by Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting.
One thing I've noticed. You do seem to be a "Biased" person, why not change your tag name to Biased Xbox360 Owner? It would make sense and be fitting with your posting patterns. Seeing as you are worried about IQ quotients, wouldn't it make more sense to call yourself by a name that fits your personality, rather than a name that conflicts and is inconsistent with your personality?

Response to Rubix42,DOOOOOD, Prey is an AWESOME game, too! That game was in development for over TEN years, and the Xbox 360 was the game system that was lucky enough to finally be able to display the game in the way that the developers wanted it to be played by gamers.
There is already a sequel planned for Prey, and I am looking forward to it a LOT! Prey is a COOOL game, and it did well when it was reviewed. I remember IGN had great things to say about Prey when they rated it a 9 out of 10, and I still look at the isse of Gamepro that rated Prey a 4.75 out of 10. I remember that the Official Xbox Magazine rated Prey a 9 out of 10, and I will never forget that Game Informer magazine rated Prey a 9.5 out of 10, because I saw that issue in the store the day I bought the game!!! That made me very excited to play it, and Prey didn't disappoint me!
Prey also now sells for $29.99 because it is a best-seller, and it will eventually end up as an official Platinum-Hit. For now, it is like Call of Duty 2--a best-seller that sells for $29.99, but doesn't have the "official" Platinum-Hit label on it.
LOL...I mean I still look at the issue of Gamepro that rated Prey a 4.75 out of 5...not 10, LOL.Hey, even professors make typos. ;)

I think PDZ was a pretty sh!tty game. Rare redeemed it with Viva Pinata, but that was too kiddy for my taste. And with the leaving of their main leaders, well... for me, Rare's over.

The funny thing is that the shitty PDZ sold better than Viva... shows what the 360 demographic is all about.
Written by Itaintrite on 2007/03/08
Well, the franchise sold itself too I guess. Perfect Dark is obviously more well-known than Viva Pinata.

Response to Itraintrite:There is word on the street that the original Perfect Dark game is going to be heading to Xbox Live Arcade, but with improved textures, extra levels, and online play.If that is true, I would be one happy camper, because Perfect Dark Zero is one of my favorite games, and I would love to play more Perfect Dark...I think that is a great franchise that we will probably see another sequel to during the life of the Xbox 360...and this time, Rare has access to Final Version development kits, so I bet it would be AWESOME!

uTP is not a 360 game which ye dont like
Written by Rubix42 on 2007/03/08
Ok UTp, we just have to agree to disagree. Prey had some cool thoughts, and interesting dialog, in the end it was lackluster and very short.I feel that $60 should provide at least 20 hours of single player campaign, not 7 or 8. Regardless, I think you're crazy, and a Biased 360 Owner. It also bothers me a bit that you're not willing to discuss any of the flaws that are in either of the games. I'm willing to admit that both PDZ and Prey had bright points, even though the overall experience is wanting. All you can do is regurgitate review scores that mean nothing to my opinion, and throw out some exciting adjectives. How about some discussion. Did you truly find everything in PDZ to be WONDERFUL, every last moment of the game? I found most of it to be slightly ok and preceeding to boring. The split mission that features Joanna up top, and Dad below was cool, that's about it.

PDZ was killa, bottom line, geuss there are people who dont think it was that good, but even the stingy IGN gave it a really good reveiw, so where does that leave all those who say it was shitty? viva pinata got better reveiws, but its too kiddy.rubix, what would you consider $50 to bring in terms of gameplay, there were many games inthe last generation that had less than 8 hours of gameplay, and is there a ps3 game that plays that long, even resistance aint that long, and it is 16 GB of uncompressed data.
