New Lucasarts DMM/Euphoria Physics In Action, Video - Wow! >

The new phycis engine by Lucasarts, the DMM/Euphoria engine, is looking amazing, to put it bluntly. IGN has a new video of the Star Wars game in action, and it is very impresssive. If the final produce even comes close to this level of realism, we are in for a real treat.

i wonder why this article is in the ps3 section.. and not 360 as well.... any one know?

Good question, the article itself states that tools is now possible on Next-Gen hardware it doesn't really picck one over the other. I'll assume is because each system has its advantage when the other effects are in place and they'll try to make the tools work equal for both system and multiplatform games. as far as ign only putting it in the ps3 section is because that system has 4D capabilites. no seriously I don't know why.

and stop saying its a Lucasarts Engine its not, NaturalMotion are developing it like with the Endorphin Engine, Lucasarts are just involved with them.

here's the link to there home page.

and its not Totally a physics Engine, its a dynamically created animation Engine.

You know, when you combine software like this and the new Unreal Engine with hardware like the AgeisX chip and the AI chips they're working on and it looks like the future of gaming could be really awesome.

Still wish I could open all the cabnets in Chrono Trigger though...

the physics in the new unreal engine suck, in gears of war anyway. AEGIA physX are nowhere near comparable with havok physics, regardless of their physx cards. to me its just a way of tricking consumers into purchasing an unrequired product. take a look at the new havok 4.0 showcase videos on youtube, they look amazing.

As far as NaturalMotion works, they don't licence their physics engine as middleware. Instead, they work with the developer in integrating the engine with the game, in this case, LucasArts is the partner in development.
