It seems that Polyphony Digital has provided Sony with an updated Gran Turismo HD download version, at least in Europe. The new edition, 2.0, provides more force feedback options for anyone who is using a steering wheel.

Oooookaaaay...another demo...graaaaaaate.

Has Sony ever heard of a real game for the PS3. Take those frikkin employees off of the demo nonsense and put them on the real game. That way, their time won't be wasted.

But, this proves 100% what I was saying about how the Playstation 3 will have Rumble technology, but only in Function controllers, like the Sony executives said.

You wan't be able to have Rumble technology in the normal controller in your hand...only the steering wheel controller.
Written by VaeVictus on 2007/03/23

Actually, Splitfish is working on rumble for the PS3 controller. I have the email from them to prove it.

How many demo's does XBL have? Tons. Is that a bad thing? No. It's better than nothing you troll.
Written by Unbiased Technology Professor on 2007/03/23

Response to VaeVictus:

You have 100% confirmed what I have said!!!

Sony themselves will NOT be creating a first-party Rumble controller...although the potential exists for third-parties to do so...IF the game supports the feature. For example, all PS3 games currently made, and made in the near future will NOT support that feature...and that is not something a download can solve.

But hey, when God of War 3 is released sometime in 2009 or 2010, then that game might Rumble.

Yes, Xbox Live does have plenty of demos, but the difference between Xbox Live and the PS3 is that most of the times the demos come out shortly before the games release, and other times the demos come out after the games release, just so people can give the game a try after the game has been released.

With the Playstation 3, you end up getting demos like this when the games are AGES away from being released. They seriously need to forget about the demos and make those employees work on the games.

That is what Epic did with Gears of War. They said, "Screw the demo," we want to put as much time into the game as possible.

PS3 has FAR TOO FEW games to be spending time making adjustments to demos.

By the way...how are people like B1ueadmiral and I "trolls." Do you even know what a Troll is?

Act your age VaeVictus!!!

Unless you are a four-year old...in that case, keep up the good work!
Written by arthur56k on 2007/03/24

correct utp, but i think sony said that they would have some info on the next GT game come the tokyo game show, they are working on the title, although it will most likely come out in 2008, plus the demos are a good thing, but not neccesarily great if the actual games are coming out after long periods of time,.

vae, i have to agree with utp on this, but the rumble will ebe a greeat addition
Written by VaeVictus on 2007/03/24

Dude, UTP, you are pathetic. Talking about acting your age??? You are supposedly a professor, yet you spend your time on a video game website arguing about video games. You are a tool.

Don't be surprised either if Sony does in fact release a new controller with rumble either. It isn't like they haven't released revised controllers before. And before you go on to reply with some lame ass comment about how great MS is just remember the 'S' controller. STFU, I own you son.

theres somethings in live that some people just love or hate it , theres no intermediate.*sarcasm said,

The ps3 is one of them.

@@@@ UTP

Can you give me your psn and xbl game tag , and which ps3 and xbox360 games do you play regulary online??

Anyway , just because there is gt demos on the ps3 dosent mean that polyphony inst working hard on gt5.

In my opinion the gt5 will have nothing to do with this demos , since is probable that a new engine will run gt5 , theres is need a new class of graphics and physics to GT5 win over forza 2.

Wow...

In response to the final sentence, written in the third posting on this page, written by VaeVictus, where you swears at me and claims that he "owns me," and calls me his "son."...

I think it goes without saying that we now know who truly is biased, and who is a fanboy...Nobody else needs to do any talking at all, because VaeVictus has done all the talking necessesary to prove that he is a PS fanboy, a biased person, and an arrogant person who is biased towards himself in life.

VaeVictus is not worthy of any of our respect, in the same way the immature "swearers," fanboys, and arrogant people who do not show respect to other people are not worthy of our respect.

Until VaeVictus shows that he has thought about these mistakes, and entered some sort of daily prayer, relaxation, meditation, or even therapy to overcome that type of personal arrogance problem, and asked for God's grace or some type of enablement to overcome that problem, then I think we should really just forget about the things he has to say.

I respect men like arthur56k, MAKAVELI, B1uadmiral, NUTTSACK, and several others quite a bit on this website because they not only stand up for themeselves, but also for their friends and even people they don't know. As long as someone is being picked on, then they will stand up and defend that person and his/her right to speak and debate.

When a young man like arthur56k gives reasoning why he supports me, I truly do appreciate that very much. That is why I thank people like MAKAVELI, arthur56k, NUTTSACK, mike_mgoblue, Optaviusx, DM, and others each time they defend me and the things I point out.

VaeVictus, let's analyze your response to me in that third post--sentence by sentence.

(1) You call me pathetit. I rate that a 1.

(2) Sentence 2 isn't even a sentence, it is incomplete, and doesn't make a reference to anything in your post. I rate it a 0.

(3) VaeVictus, I AM a professor, and I am entitled to spend my time however I want. I rate it a 7.

(4) You are a tool. Incomplete sentence. I rate it a 0.

That entire first paragraph rates about a 20% in an English class, mainly because of your anger, which is caused by fear.

I won't rate your second paragraph, because there are actually things worth responding to.

First, I won't be surprised if Sony releases a new controller, even though they have Offficially said they wouldn't. After all, Sony has BY FAR the worst reputation in the industry for telling lies. But, for now, only third-party controllers, and Function controllers--such as Racing Wheels will ever be able to have Rumble technology on the PS3. And the results of the court case are different in several parts of the world--the third party controller may be able to be released in one market, but not the other.

Also, those third-party PS3 controllers aren't going to be released for quite a while, and no downloads will be able to fix the problem with EVERY Playstation 3 game releases so far--the problem being that it does NOT support Rumble or Vibration. So, even if that controller does come out, and you bought the steering wheel, you still won't be able to use it with games released up to this point in time for the Playstation 3, and like I said, no downloads can fix that problem.

As far as how Microsoft released the "Controller S" for the original Xbox. That has NOTHING to do with the court cast that Sony lost at EVERY level of appeal, which resulted in the Playstation 3 not being able to use Rumble technology.

And as for your last sentence in paragraph 2, I think that might be enough to ask DM to give you a warning not to swear on the website again. So, I would like to ask DM to please do so.

DM tries to run a tight ship on this website, and I thnk he does a great job, especially the way he issued warnings to people for swearing and using aggressive forms of offensive language. Even though it is the same group of adults that generally reply, he knows that there are a lot of younger people that look at this website on a regular basis. Those kids don't need to learn how to use Internet language swear word abbreviations to communicate in life!
Written by Unbiased Technology Professor on 2007/03/24

Also, VaeVictus, that controller from Slitfish you are referring to that features Rumble technology for the PS3 is a FUNCTION controller; it isn't a standard controller. Next time, please tell the whole story.

UUummm!!...OK...Sony recently stated they'll be releasing a controller with rumble in the near future(doesn't anyone watch the 1up show?).

my 2 cents: A demo for any system is a good thing, it hypes the upcoming game(crackdown anyone......no seriously anyone wanna play?),possible gives the developers feedback(Lost planet anyon....i give up)and it's free. Hell! if i had a PS3 i'd be super pumped because of this news. man, i wish i had a PS3 );

I wonder if UTP even has a 360 or PS3 ?
Written by Unbiased Technology Professor on 2007/03/24

jb33,

I responded to your comment about whether I own a 360 and or a PS3 in the part of the website that talks about Halo 3 helmets!

MAKAVELI, and captkey3s,

I wrote each of your private messages with information relating to online identity. Please write back so I know your names.

captkey3s:

I don't catch every episode of the 1up show, but the way things have been explained to me by my friends is that Sony lost at every level of court appeal. It was FAR more beneficial for Immersion to say, "Screw you Sony, no PS3" for Rumble technology that can be considered first-party, so that seems to be what happened.

Some things were worked out once the final appeal was lost by Sony--Sony gets to keep Rumble in the PS2 controller, and they can allow third-party Function controllers with the PS3. But, it appears the PS3 does not have the ability to have Sony release a first-party universal controller.

What episode of the 1up show was that?

"Oooookaaaay...another demo...graaaaaaate.

And you cry tears of joy for every demo released on Xbox Live. I hope you're not teaching the young minds of this world to be hypocrites xbox fanboys/girls.
Written by arthur56k on 2007/03/25

itainrite, something aint right with your statement, all the demos that have been coming out on live have mostly come within a month of the game release, and as i stated, i dont care for poepe releasing demos for titles that are coming after years, it makes no sense. the primary objective is to let you gauge whether you are going to get a title or not
Written by Unbiased Technology Professor on 2007/03/25

Response to arthur56k:

PERFECTLY said, my friend!!!...Perfectly said!!!

The whole point of a demo is to let people try it. It is to invest time and money into trying games so they can see if they are going to like them when they are released.

Look at the way Crackdown had a lot of pre-orders just because of the Halo 3 stuff. But, look at the way the sales of Crackdown and the pre-orders SKYROCKETED after the demo of Crackdown was placed on Xbox Live and people fell in love with Crackdown.

Epic didn't release a demo of Gears of War, because they knew everybody would be able to play it at their friends house, or that it would certainly be a game they would want to play or rent. The replay value on it is unlimited, so even people renting the game would still want to buy Gears of War.

I think it is great when games on Xbox Live receive demos either shortly before the game is released, or afterwards. Crackdown almost literally was not a demo--it was the finished game, and you only got to play it for 60 minutes. That was a new type of demo. It was awesome the way they did that with the demo so close to the release date.

And I think it is cool the way that even some of the older Xbox 360 games are still starting to appear as demos. Those are still games people might be interested in. The amount of demos on the Xbox 360 is amazing!!!

I think the demo that had the longest length of time when it came on Xbox Live, compared to when it was released, was Lost Planet. However, this was ON PURPOSE, because it was a VERY SPECIAL EXPERIENCE that was AWESOME, because it was from the 2006 E3 show, and it brought the E3 game show home to the people thanks to Xbox Live; it was almost as if we were really there playing the game demos.

But companies like Microsoft and Capcom don't release games with a release date that far away for no reason at all, like Sony does, or for the incredibly stupid reason of saying, "Hey, now you can this DEMO with an expensive funtion-controller steering wheel, that you will have to buy just for this demo."

C'mon, Itaintrite, that is dumb.

I think arthur56k said things excellent. arthur56k should change his name to arthurFiberOptic, because he is one heck of an intelligent individual that I often agree with on a regular basis, and I think his intelligence is light years ahead of several people on this website...particularly the people on the website who call names and act immature all the time when they are trying to defend the poor sales and lack of quality of the Playstation 3.
