	It seems that the UK retailer GAME is refusing to sell the Playstation 3 incarnation of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game, of course, is in high demand, but sales will be hampered by the top specialty store not selling the game at all. Stay tuned, GAME could not be reached for comment. >Link

That just seems like a bad call IMO.

Unless GAME is the only store chain in the UK, I don't know if this is going to have a major impact on sales of Oblivion. Sure, they might lose some sales to people who might find out about the game while browsing a GAME store, but I suspect a large percentage of people buying Oblivion know about it and will just get it someplace else.

My question is why? This has been an excellent 3rd party seller (one of the few) on the PS3. It's also IMO the best game out on the PS3 right now. It'd be nice if some further explanation was given.

that must of been a sudden decision, i seen it been advertised about a week ago in a GAME store. Game is one of the best gameshops/stores in Ireland and UK. really strange it doesn't make sence, MS must be bribing them, ha ha. Gamestop, virgin and HMV are other big game sellers in UK and Ireland so you could still get the game.

I love RFoM and MS, but for me Oblivion is a more complete game. Oblivion is so huge and wide open; and the fact that it was so well done it a testament to Bethesda. Games like these don't come out all that often. Not to mention, this is by far the best port found on the system.

It was confirmed by GAME to be a distribution issue. Allegedly, it has been corrected and their stores will be stocking or have stocked it for today.

The retailer probably has plenty of copies in their Inventory of the Xbox 360 version and the PC versions of Oblivion, so they might not want to add more of the same game. When people talk about Oblivion right now, the first thing mentioned is Shivering Isles. The Shivering Isles expansion isn't even available for the Playstation 3, which is one of the reasons why many reviews have said the Playstation 3 version of Oblivion is the least desireable version. So, from a business point of view, the retailer may think it is a poor decision to stock the PS3 version of the game in their Inventory.

This isn't a big factor, though, because the Internet and other catalog sales allow the games to be ordered by mail. Just look at the way the German game rating group decided not to rate Gears of War or Crackdown at all! That makes you wonder why they even have a ratings group in the first place! Anyways, people in Germany simply ordered Crackdown and Gears of War on the Internet and through mail order. Where there is a will, there is a way.

The Shivering Ilses is not available right now, but it will become available in the future. PS3 owners have plenty of game to keep the occupied for the time being with Oblivion and the Nights of Nine expansion that is included on the disk. The other "opinions" you list are just that, so stop trying to create false truths with your idiotic babbling. When I talk to people about Oblivion, we talk about Oblivion. How good the game is, I haven't once discussed the Shivering Ilses with anyone. Most people I talk to about this game own it on PC or the 360.

U.S. sales for Oblivion have been terrific, so your theories are with out logic and/or fact. Stay out of the PS3 forums if you are going to continue posting this garbage. WE'VE HEARD IT ALL BEFORE!
