The graphics are a bit of a letdown IMO, The games crashes look and sound pretty real. Forza 2 plays incredible,it's defiantly the most accurate car simulator to date. Online is gonna be pretty intense, defiantly not for people who like arcade racers like Burnout. Forza 2 might be a little to "SIMULATION" for me but, i'm not really a race fan. I expect allot of Burnout/Need For Speed fans to be letdown, Forza seems to be for die hard racing fans more than arcade race fans.

the demo is huge, a lot of cars for a demo, i just wish they gave us more then one track but that might be asking a bit much from a demo. the graphics werent a let down for me because i knew what to expect, any game that looks better then PGR3 is gorgeous in my book. you know your in for a treat when you hit a car too hard and debri from both cars cluttering the track for the rest of the race, that's realism.

cant wait for the final game

So does the game look Visually better then GTHD?
Written by purbeast on 2007/05/10

Sky from the pics/vids I've seen of it, GTHD looks better. I won't be able to try the demo until late tonight.
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

no, real games rarely look as good as a tech demo.

car models are great (as good as any other out there), just as good IMHO, reflections are accurate, constant 60fps, realistic AI that doesnt look like it's following a set path, and physics faster then the eye can accurately see.

i dont think there is much to complain about graphically, but im sure you'll find something to bitch about sky

but in reality with everything that goes on in the screen, the game is technically more advanced and impressive then GTHD

@ kenny k

im not bitching at all.. i was just curious.. im just browsing fourms.. people are saying it looks "ok" but the gameplay and AI, Physics is awesome....i really wish i was home so i can try the Demo.... Does anyone have a Racing Wheel?
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

no, but i may get it for this game to help with the sim aspect.

also anyone who thinks this games only looks "ok" doesnt understand what their looking at. i think nemesis can agree with me on that one. which is fine, different tastes different opinions.

im curious to see how different the demo is from the game. my guess is that it's closer to the final build then the Forza 1 demo was. the forza 1 demo looked like complete ass compared to the game and the mechanics seemed unfinished.

and i apologize sky about jumpin on you like that, but it just gets old to keep on seeing the same immiture pissing contest between both systems time after time when 99% of the comparisons are far from accurate and are usually twisted out of context

Sky: I've got the racing wheel but won't get a chance to get at the demo till after work. I'll let you know how it plays.

not to change the subject but is anyone else getting as annoyed as i am about the stupid pop-ups this site has now? i didnt even know there were enough users here to get a sponsor
Written by jb33 on 2007/05/10

@SKY) GTHD defiantly looks better for sure, i just did a picture in picture side by side comparison on my TV. Forza 2 defiantly plays better than GTHD though. Allot of people are extremely letdown already by Forza 2.

I think the car models before you start the race look allot better in GTHD but, once you race in motion they look better in Forza 2. The 2 games seem like they went for different graphical looks, GTHD looks real and Forza looks kind of cartoon like. I think GTHD gave us it's best looking track in their demo and Forza gave us one of their worst.

If i had to pick one it would be Forza 2 because it plays so perfect and the car damage is crazy.

different engines, means different renderers within the engine. same song and dance as it always has been.
Written by Sky on 2007/05/10

Cool.. thanks for the Quick Impressions JB.. and Wee Wee let me know how it plays with that racing wheel

I was at my local BX store of base and a couble of GI's were playing PGR with the racing wheel.. i gotta Admit it was looking really fun.. i cant imagine how forza 2 would be.. i did realize though theres alot of different racing wheel SKU's ranging from 69- 150... so if anyone has good impressions of one let us know here @ GR
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

i would get the $150 one, although i could have sworn that the $150 model had PGR3 included, so you may be able to find it cheaper if it just has the wheel.

either way it's the only one with real resistance and i havent heard/read any complaints about it.
Written by weewee on 2007/05/10

The $150 wireless wheel is the best model, and the only wheel with resistance afaik. It includes a version of PGR3 with with drivers for the wheel, and they don't sell it without PGR3.

PGR3 worked great with the wheel, but you could still get a sense that it wasn't as good of a driving experience as it could be because PGR3 wasn't built with the wheel in mind. Forza 2 was pretty much built for the wheel, so it should be much better. I'll let you know later today.
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

you have the wheel weewee? if so any quick impressions on it? im thinking of pickin up the wheel but i already have PGR3 which is a problem. they should offer a cheaper package for those who already own the game.
Written by weewee on 2007/05/10

Wheel has definitely been a good pickup. Resistance on it is awesome, build is real solid, and vibration is real nice. Only downside on the wheel is that its not completely wireless because you connect a cable (pretty much a phone line) from the wheel to the pedals, but thats not a big deal considering all other wheels are wired. Besides that, it was definitely worth the purchase.

The reason they include PGR3 is because the original PGR3 didn't contain drivers for the wheels, so you'll get no features like resistance when playing the retail copy. It still sucks that they just didn't include that in an update for people that own the game already like you and me.
Written by kidkit on 2007/05/10

I don't think pgr3 is much of a markup on the wheel. even if the wheel was standalone I think it would only shave $10 off the price.. just sell your used copy of pgr. Anyhow, i'm at work, i won't be able to try forza with the wheel until later but PGR plays great with the wheel and forza was built around the wheel. It will be an awesome experience.
Written by Bearsfan13 on 2007/05/10

@ Kenny K,

Yes The popup are a pain in my backside. GR please reverse that.
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

i agree kidkit, thanks. let us know how the wheel feels on Forza supposedly your able to "feel the road" through the wheel.

@ bearsfan, i dont think GR will reverse anything, they get money for those popups

how it works is, the site owners (or whoever) will say we get "this" many hits on our site every day, week, year, whatever. basically selling screen space for ads that the sponsors pay for. very similar to a magazine

i dont mind ads on a site, almost everyone has them, but to have something popup (sometimes twice) every time i click a link will not help this site get users.
Written by otoole on 2007/05/10

i get no pop ups.
Written by Kenny K on 2007/05/10

you have a blocker then, at work i dont, sucks to be me =p
Written by jlemdon on 2007/05/10

gonna download it now.
Written by weewee on 2007/05/10

Game works great with the wheel. PGR3 was the best game before, but Forza seems to have more control with the wheel and better feedback.

kenny my reply, my reply, i can see from the comments that the title looks awqesome interms of game play, but my reply, im really waiting for your opinion
