Red Storm, the people who used to bring you Tom Clancy games, have revealed that they are working on a new America's Army game for the Xbox360. The game, True Soldiers, will be officially sponsored by the US Army, as usual, and wil be used as a thinly-vieled recruiting tool. IGN spoke with Randy Greenback, Creative Director over at Red Storm, to get the lowdown on this new Xbox360 exclusive.

America's Army is a great game! There were people who wanted to join the American Army and Secret Service just because they played the free PC version of the game that the U.S. Army handed out as a recruiting tool. But technology has come a long way, and we are in a new generation. Now it's time for a new Amerca's Army game, and this one looks absolutely realistic! It's like you are really a part of the action!
I think it's cool that Ubisoft is releasing this version 100% exclusive for the Xbox 360. That way it will be 100% optimized for Xbox 360 high-definition hardware. That's probably why America's Army: True Soldiers looks so great!

In the interview with Red Storm's creative director, Randy Greenback commented on why they chose to make the game exclusive to the 360 stating that, "First and foremost our experience level on the 360 is much higher, having gone through the development of GRAW and GRAW2 multiplayer. The second factor is that the installed base is much larger, which translates to a greater opportunity for a wider audience to experience the game".
This is an excellent example showing how the Xbox 360's position as the next-generation worldwide sales leader has resulted in the Xbox 360 receiving yet another exclusive game from a third-party company.

"The second factor is that the installed base is much larger, which translates to a greater opportunity for a wider audience to experience the game"."Um, that kind of contradicts itself, doesn't it? Making a game exclusive to one console will ALWAYS translate into a SMALLER opportunity for a wider audience. If your goal is a wider audience, multi-platform is the way to go. Me thinks his first point is the ONLY reason it's exclusive to the 360, which is a perfectly good excuse on it's own.

@madgunde) It's WAY to risky to spend time and money for most developers to make exclusive games for the PS3 right now. Why wouldn't Red Storm want to make more money by going multiplatform ? They must be scared of something like not making their money back. It's becoming a trend... I'm still waiting to PLAY B3YOND... I'm not saying i don't believe but. let me know when it's time.

@jb33,Who said anything about making a PS3 exclusive? You seem to be agreeing with what I posted. You may want to read my post again.
