	More bad press for Rockstar and Manhunt today. The mother of Stuart Harling, the 18 year-old convicted of stabbing nurse Cheryl Moss to death, has claimed that his violent behaviour was triggered by playing videogames such as Manhunt. Speaking to the News of the World Lorraine Harling said, "I knew he was playing the video games but we didn't really know what went on in them, how brutal and graphic they were. "Stuart was 11 or 12 when I bought him the PlayStation. For a long time I didn't even realise games had age limits on them. We'd just buy him the game that all the other kids had. I didn't really know what they were about. I think most parents are the same." Take some parenting responsibilty please. >Link

Stupid parenting seems to be the issue, they should jail her along with her son for allowing and buying her son these games. The UK have age rules for a reason.

He is 18 now and she was obviously buying games for him before that date, that was my point.

When was the last time a movie was sited for causing violence? the video game industry seems like a convinent scape goat atm.

so why don't we blame obesity in children on games, just hear me out,

1. In GTA you need to eat food to get health

2. In PAC MAN the main character eats everything

3. Because am just stupid enough to make a claim like that

I've played and watched very violent video games and movies ever since i was 7 years old, shouldn't I be killing people.

Sometimes people are just crazy, some parents i mean.

Believe it or not Videogames does have an influence on people that play them too much, for example, I play lots of FPS, and before I started playing FPS, I had a terrible aim in the bathroom, Now I'm on point and shooting directly in the bowl, and my chin stays dry throught out the my monrings and late nights at the bars.

so she is admitting the blame then she gave her under age a 18's rated game, shame on her.

He's 18 years old -- he's an adult and responsible for his own actions. His mom is trying to excuse his behavior by blaming it on video games. Sorry mom, but face it, your kid is a p-s-y-c-h-o.

I've been playing violent video games since mortal kombat 1 (think I was 6 when that came out) and I haven't killed anyone. That kid is just a fuckin idiot....

man. blaming video games is so old. they should test him for steroids.
