Haze Xbox360 Version Cancelled? >
2007/08/24 9:15:56: Posted by DM
According to Exp.de, the XBox360 version of Haze is now cancelled. The post apparently says that the game will remain PS3 exclusive, but will appear on PC later next year. Rumor mill for now for many obvious reasons, more info when we have it.

How funny, what was happening for the PS3 before is now happening to the 360. Let me guess, Ubisoft will claim that the 360 is not powerful enough sending the PS3 fanboys into a frenzy. Did Ubisoft claim that Splinter Cell Conviction couldn't be done on the PS3 because it didn't produce convincing artificial intelligence?

Ah I love fanboys!

Response to CellFish:

Things to remember:

(1) This is just a rumor for now.

(2) Even if this were to be true, this is the FIRST and ONLY time this has happened to the Xbox 360.

(3) The Fact that this game is also being released for the PC--according to the Rumor--strongly suggests that if this were true, then it has nothing to do with any sort of Xbox 360 development issue, since the Xbox 360 and PC development environments are virtually identical.

(4) The comment you make about Ubisoft and Splinter Cell: Conviction is VERY DIFFERENT from what has happened here.

With Splinter Cell: Conviction, Ubisoft said three things from the very beginning. (1) That they absolutely loved the development environment of the Xbox 360. (2) That Splinter Cell originated on the Xbox 360, so that did play a role in making Splinter Cell: Conviction an Xbox 360 exclusive console release. (3) Ubisoft has said that the Xbox 360 is the only console capable of having the same level of quality as the PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Those things were said by Ubisoft...from the beginning!

With Haze, this would literally mean that development progressed almost all the way before it was cancelled--on a development environment that is even easier than the PC...that simply doesn't make sense. Obviously, there must be some sort of outside influence.

Sony claims that they don't buy exclusive games. Financially speaking, Sony's game division is having a rough time, so they may not have the cash to do so. But, maybe Ubisoft doesn't want to compete against the strong linuep of Xbox 360 games that would be released during the same section of time: Halo 3, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Call of Duty 4, Unreal 3, Lost Odyssey, Project Gotham Racing 4, and all the rest.

Haze was never mentioned in my "list of games," when I would talk about how Xbox 360 has the strongest Holiday lineup of games ever for 2007, and would break the 2004 records of the industry...but still, it's never good to have a cancelled game so late in development for such illogical reasons.

I think we need to wait for what Ubisoft has to say about rumors. This is the only website I have heard anything about that. But, it's important to remember that Haze was originally announced only for PS3, but Ubisoft also said it would be released for Xbox 360. So, maybe that German website is still looking at outdated information.

Krogan:

"(1) This is just a rumor for now."

I'll keep this in mind the next time you assume (insert ps3 exclusive) is going to the 360 based on a rumour.

multi-platform going PS3 exclusive rumor - just a rumor

PS3 exclusive going multi-platform rumor - oh its definately happening. mark my words. the ps3 only does 270,000,000 polygons while the 360 does 500,000,000 polygons. madden on 360 is in 60fps while on the ps3 is in 30fps. the 360 is easy to develop for becuase of the architecture while the design of the ps3 makes it harder to develop for. thats why EA is making the 360 its top priorty, thats why this rumor is bogus, and thats why Petal Rear Squalid Door is coming to the 360!!

lol
