BBFC Rejects Revised Version Of Manhunt 2 >
2007/10/08 5:59:53: Posted by vividbreeze
The BBFC has rejected a revised version of the video game Manhunt 2. This follows the rejection of the original version of the game in June. The distributor had set in motion an appeal to the Video Appeals Committee against that decision, and the revised version was considered for classification. David Cooke, Director of the BBFC said:

“We recognise that the distributor has made changes to the game, but we do not consider that these go far enough to address our concerns about the original version. The impact of the revisions on the bleakness and callousness of tone, or the essential nature of the gameplay, is clearly insufficient. There has been a reduction in the visual detail in some of the ‘execution kills’, but in others they retain their original visceral and casually sadistic nature.

Response to CianMCL:

Although I disagree with your foul language, I have to say that we are thinking alike on this particular subject.

The whole point of having a rating system is to make it so a game can be rated appropriately, and then put on the market.

If this game exceeds limitations for all available ratings, then it should still be able to be purchased by adults in some way, through certain retailers.

i can complain and say what ever i want about the english. because of 100's of years of conolisation. african- americans dont let people forget about slavery and irsh wont let english forget about that

These bastards are hypocrites.

The English show more filth on TV than any other country. Allowing adult contain to be shown as early as 10 pm. And most of the programs that are from America are aired uncensored.

Bloody Hell!!!

Cian: What gives you the right to say what you want about the English? They colonized a lot of places, but they never exactly turned the Irish into slaves now, did they? Try back up your comments with less BS and more fact before you start blurting out crap.

The Irish Film board hardly will allow it. They're almost twice as strict on content. They banned Family Guy season 2 from being televised or released on DVD until 2005.
