WOW !!! UTP eat your heart out...LOL. This game is incredible... Finally a reason to own a PS3. Everything is perfect in my opinion.

The graphics/sound/movement/combat/button layout...ALL PERFECT.

If your a fan of Tomb Raider then you'll love this game. This could end up being one of my favorite games of all time.

HFG. jb33 - Don't put the cart b4 the horse. We've yet to play hands on with Assassin Creed & Mass Effect. So Don't be to quick to put this game over the other BIG titles that are coming out.
Written by incoming00 on 2007/11/09

Jagosix, i think jb33 is just stating that Uncharted isnt as bad as Urdnot has been making it out to be. almost every news posted about Uncharted theres been nothing but negativity from Urdnot. so he's not saying its better then other big games coming out, just saying thats its a good game.

The video scenes were good, but the characters look a bit pixelated from a distance. I thought the background scenery was nice, and the controls weren't bad at all. All in all, not a bad title. It's a shame it took so long for the PS3 to start releasing titles like this.

This game looks good. But so have a few other PS3 exclusives. This doesnt change the fact that nobody will buy this game. I mean Ratchet and Clank has only sold 144,000 in 2 weeks. Lair is at 190,000. Heavenly Sword is at 220,000. I think Warhawk is at 225,000. But I hear Spiderman 3 sold well :p

Seriously by the time I buy a PS3 again all Sony's first party exclusives will be in the bargain bin or else Sony will be bundling them. I dont really see a need to own a PS3 right now, in another year Sony will be begging us to buy thier console rather than begging 3rd party developers to keep making games for the PS3.

Response to SupremeChaotic:

I agree with everything you said. The pixelization of Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is noticably from a distance, like you said, but I noticed the pixelization and jagged lines even from close distances. Maybe that's because I'm playing on a 1080p HDTV set combined with the fact that the PS3 doesn't have a hardware resolution upconversion chip to output the correct amount of pixels, in the way that the Xbox 360 does.

I agree with you that it is a shame that it took such a long time for games like this to be release for the Playstation 3, but whats WORSE are these FACTS:

(1) Uncharted: Drakes Fortune can be beaten in less than 10 hours, which is something that PS3 fans have clearly said for years that they DON'T want in a game.

Being forced to wait YEARS for a game, and then being able to beat the game in one work days time is a SHAME.

(2) The HUGE reason why Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is a "Rental" game rather than a "Buy" game is the FACT that there is virtually no "Replay Value" in the game.

Call of Duty 4 can be beaten in even less time than Uncharted: Drakes Fortune...HOWEVER, Call of Duty 4 has an EXCELLENT Online Multi-Player mode that gives the game INFINITE replay value!

Games like Gears of War and Halo 3 take it even further by adding Online Co-Op campaign modes, which add to the "Replay Value" in amazing ways.

*** The FACT that Uncharted: Drakes Fortune does NOT have ANY form of Multi-Player mode makes it so there is simply no Replay Value.

(3) Beating a $60 PS3 game, and then realizing it has no Replay Value...and then realizing that the Playstation 3 is STILL having all sorts of major problems with Software DELAYS and CANCELLATIONS with games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 (which won't be seen until late 2008), Unreal Tournament 3, and Final Fantasy 13 (which won't be seen until at least 2009), then you can see why people--even Japanese people--don't want the Playstation 3 as much as they want the Xbox 360.

Seriously, I mean what I say...releasing an expensive PS3 game with so little replay value is a shame for $60 in today's environment of games that DO offer that much replay value. So that is why I'm not interested in buying Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

If Sony is going to release a game like this without Replay Value, then they should release it at the price of $39, like some of the shorter Xbox 360 games recently were released at.

krogan what about the people who have no internet access. plus ps3 is nearly out a year now so why were we waitin years for this game
Written by arthur56k on 2007/11/10

this game really does nothing groundbreaking if what some of my friends tell me is anything to go by
Written by incoming00 on 2007/11/12

so urdnot's definition of replay value means online play. so basically games like Heavenly Sword and Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank have 0 replay value because of no online play? so does that mean BioShock has no replay value seeing that it has no online play? and it too was 60 bucks :P

What the BorgBot and his M$ cronies do not realize is that the MAJORITY of casual gamers do not like online gaming (that's the largest gaming market - Sony and Nintendo understand this). Multi-player online mode is generally a token patch and coverup for LAME GAME DESIGN. Sandbox gaming is fun within the context of a great design. ie: GTA series. But within the mundane plethora of FPS (Halo, COD, etc...) the online experience is not new, innovative nor a compelling experience. Multiplayer online gaming does not equate replay value... but it only rises to repetitive, boring and predominantly unpredictable due to inadequate network services and the nature of the chaos playing against your average temperamental poor sportsman navel-gazer with ADD.

Online gaming is a very legit market. But it is only a small niche segment of the vast home gaming entertainment industry.
