MS Announces Record 16 Billion Q2 Revenue >
2008/01/24 17:15:18: Posted by DM
It looks like the Xbox360 is indeed doing well. Microsoft has just released their Q2 fiscal results, and the revenue was at USD 16.37 billion. This exceeds the previous record by almost 2 billion. Billion, folks, not million. The increase was attributed to the success of the Xbox360 and the release of Windows Vista.

"We are extremely pleased by the broad based strength of our business performance and field execution. Throughout the first half of our fiscal year, all of our businesses met or beat our expectations."

Revenue is a good subject with Microsoft, because they make a Net Income on virtually everything they sell. Almost every fiscal quarter, their profits are around $4 billion dollars.

The Auto Industry here in Michigan is a little different. Companies like General Motors and Ford literally earn $250,000,000,000 (250 BILLION) in Revenue, yet they will literally end up with a $10 Billion dollar loss in Net Income.

The thing that truly makes Microsoft amazing is how efficiently the organization is run.

The other thing that makes Microsoft amazing is that even when you don't count the month that Bill Gates has given to charity (when he started the largest charity organization in the world), Microsoft employees still donate more money to charity than any other organization in the world. That is something to truly be proud of.

numbers skewed from the releases of Halo 3 and Vista no doubt. Their numbers would have been better if it wasn't for the hardware failures of the 360.

umm Krogan u seems to look like ur an idiot kinda a guy... because of vista sucks ! and certain ppl had no choice of getting it... MACINTOSH is winning little by little... and thats why next OS is comming with LINUX combined.... and thats gonna fail because there is no trust...

I love XP but Vista Truly sucks ! and u know what I am waiting for Apple to come with lot of support with third parties... and soon MS will suffer then...

everything they are good at cause of OS connection... once OS looses belive me... they'll start losing thats why u see MS products on apple now !

XP used to suck ass too, until SP2. Vista will eventually be good.

Blacktiger sucks ass and doesn't hawg spit, but who's complaining as long as the job get done who cares. If you any of you guys were getting a cut of that 16 billion you wouldn't be bitching in this comment section.

whYte is right. XP was equally as unstable as vista is now and that will all change with time. I am using vista right now and it is running very efficiently.

Oh yea. Project a 8% decline and then get a 3.1% increase. That's how marketing people make themselves look good. It's all spin.

The profit is from Vista. Don't be fooled.
