Gore Verbinski, director of the wildly successful Pirates of the Caribbean movies, gave the opening keynote speech at this year's D.I.C.E. Summit. In his speech, Gore urged game developers to create "their own paths." To quote him directly, he actually said, "This is the time for madness," he said. "This is the time to go down dark alleys." Interesting way to put it, we think, but he is warning that gaming is in danger of getting stale. Good advice for us all to heed.
