	Some new screens from Phantasy Star Universe have been posted and all we can say is wow. If you check out these Playstation 2 screens you will see for yourself just how impressive the game looks, and it is not even next-gen. It is a shame that developers are only able to push this kind of power out on the PS2 in its twilight years, but that is usually how it works. Click on the news title for the screens.

Don't get me wrong, those screens do look really nice, particularly for a PS2 title - but let's temper the excitement with some cold sobriety here. These captures are likely all dumped out of the screen buffer - in 720p. However, when you play the game it will be 480i or at best p. So it will be pretty, but just not as crisp as these screens let on. The first clue should be that there is nary a jaggie in sight - something current gen consoles are just not capable of - sort of like the original Halo 2 screen caps - playing Halo 2 on my Xbox 360 the captures finally look like the actual game, because now they are both in 720 p.

Actually, I read on another gaming site that these new pics are from the PC-version of the game.

Well, these screenshots are tiny. That's the whole idea of fullscreen AA isn't it? :P

More than likely all the screen shots released so far have been from the PC version.
