PRESS RELEASE

London, U.K. (March 3, 2008)— Massive software announced today that it will be exhibiting at CeBIT as part of the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) stand along with other exemplary New Zealand-based technology innovators.

CeBIT, the world’s largest IT and telecommunications trade show, is hosting its first-ever New Zealand Day, created to recognise and celebrate New Zealand’s innovative technology and unique culture. CeBIT takes place March 4-9 in Hanover, Germany.

As part of Massive’s exhibit, representatives from Hanson Robotics will be on hand to demonstrate Zeno, the first AI-driven robot using the breakthrough artificial intelligence (AI) software from Massive to reason and get smarter over time.

“New Zealand is unique in its original thinking and innovative technologies, and we’re excited to be here representing NZ at CeBIT” said Diane Holland, CEO of Massive Software.

“It’s also exciting to be involved with Zeno” said Holland, “one of several projects that illustrate how Massive principles can be applied across diverse markets—from robotics to architecture, fire evacuation to urban planning —on top of our achievements in entertainment. We are honoured to have the support of the New Zealand government championing us, and it’s very gratifying to be included by them along with so many other innovative New Zealand companies at CeBIT.”

Hanson Robotics partnered with Massive, the developer of AI simulation software used in films such as the “Lord of the Rings” Trilogy, “Happy Feet,” “Ratatouille,” and more, to design a robot that is able to view a 3D mental image of its environment to determine and control physical action and reactions. The Zeno prototype first debuted at last year’s Wired NextFest.
About Massive

Academy Award-winning Massive is the revolutionary 3D animation system that incorporates procedural animation and artificial intelligence. Massive is used by animation and visual effects artists to explore the new world of creative opportunities that AI-enabled characters make possible.

Agents are 3D characters that have a fuzzy logic AI “brain” and the natural senses of sight, sound and touch which enables them to interpret and react autonomously to the world around them. Agents can be just about any character you can imagine from humanoids, birds, animals and insects to inanimate objects such as cars.

The intuitive interface of Massive allows artists to interactively control and direct agents providing highly realistic, directable and emotive performances
