Ubisoft Officially Acquires 'Clancy' Name Rights For Games > |

This is a sensible move, of course, but it seems that Ubisoft has officially acquired the rights to the Tom Clancy name for video game. All IP rights to the name "Tom Clancy" have been handed over by the author to the game publisher. This should not only help streamline the games and reduce costs, but it will also free up Ubisoft developers to run with the games without approval from Tom himself. The name rights, by the way, also include movies and books, as well as games, so who knows what is in store.

I have not met a Tom Clancy game I like. maybe not enough story or something.
