Why the developers and publishers continue to put money into MMO game these days, we are just not sure. We keep telling people that the breaking point has been reached for this generation, and that there is just not enough MMO players to fill all the MMO games planned, but of course, no one is listening to us. Why do you think so many MMO games fail? Despite this, Codemasters, one of our favorite dev/pubs, has announced that they will be working on 2 new console MMO games. Maybe the console platform will bring them success.

MMO's fail because they are up against the juggernaut of MMO's... World of Warcraft. like Sony, Codemasters is attempting an MMO on a console to reach an uptapped market of console MMO's. i agree with you DM that there arent enough MMO players for all MMO games, especially seeing that most are free and arent up to par with a subscription MMO(except maybe Guild Wars). but imagine a game that can rival up against WoW, in both content and gameplay, but on a console with potentially millions of users. it could work...
