i just dont see how people cannot have issues with this install time shit. i buy console games to put a disc and play, not fucking go through a damn install first. When did these machines become a PC?

its funny cause all the ps3 shit, i spouted years ago how the Data read speed on blu ray was going to be a problem. I never expected it to be this bad though with manditory installs.

was this console generatoin the right one for High Definition discs.

I think time has showed no. No game has any benefit from Blu Ray, ya it holds more data...but ultimately no game experience has been enhanced cause of it, just hampered. its overkill. MS was right for not putting in HD DVD

or blu ray

I just wonder, though, if having data cached on the hard drive will help with pop-ups and texture loads. I know that's been a problem in the past with the GTA games.

what about 360 faiure three times , or at least 30 percent are defected... seems like they forgot whats important to focus on... but instead lets blame others for what they didn;t focus...

You can spend that time on hold while checking the shipping status of your RROD recall.

Other things you can do while GTA takes 5 mins to install on your ps3.

1)you can spend 5 mins trying to figure out the missing pieces of Blacktiger sentences.

2)Read the game reviews on why you should of bought the 360 version

3)Read long comments from Krogan on simple yes or no questions

4) Brag to WithoutGamesPrejudice on how many games you're going to play without frame issues, and choppy graphic, with integrated live gameplay and customs music soundtracks when your system comes back.

5) Learn the art of waiting on a games to release and when it does release, wait some more on it to install.

It does suck that you have to install the game before playing, I have just installed GT Prologue and seemed to take at least 5 mins, then another 10 mins for an update.

I guess my biggest bitch with this whole thing is that there is only a finite amount of hard drive space available. If you need to install every game it would mean a limit of around 20 games before having to strip the old ones off.

I did hear that there is an option on the 360 version to install to improve performance, so this is a growing common problem.

@Limey, its optional, remember the core system doesn't have a HD, the installation is not necessary.

It is if you want better performance, oh and I agree it is slow and not only slow but it gets annoying, but PS3 is on 5400 RPM, once it goes 7200RPM it less than 1 minute to 30 second, so that should be good to, but i still prefer no install, cant handle that bullshit !

10 000 RPM should be good, now that the rice is really low...

thats whats nice of the 360. You get options, you arent forced.

The 360 came with option since launch, HD-DVD, HDD, Wireless controllet, wifi, Live gold, lots of games all of these things are optional.

so yeah the 360 owners are not used to waiting, I'll install the game on my machine, just to get a little feeling of what its like to be a pS3 owner for 5 mins. until I buy my system in mid august or late nov.

ya i dont care, i got 2 ps3's and all they do for me is play blu ray movies. any games i buy for my xbox thats my gaming system.

Rockstar games has done the best with the so called 'greatest' that is the Playstation 3. Lets see if the 99% of people who will own the PS3 version and are not fanboys and fangirls (hey, girls dig GTA too) will care.

Did anyone hear about the exclusive expansion the 360 is getting? no. One of the devs said its on the scale of vice city so just hearing that i would buy the 360 version. a whole city in an expansion.

lol and some of them aren't forced, its free to get the hard drive, thats like saying standard Xbox doesn't have wireless which you are forced to get it, dont be picky, belive me you need hard drive to get better performance...

no games need install, just DMC 4 which has 20 minutes install but the best part there is no loading, I think I dont mind that, its not like i play ps3 24/7, so i'll let it install and come back a bit later...

Its not that hard, since i hate loading in first place...

Oh and Xbox has the worse loading thats for sure...

I just hope they focus on faulty hardware then focusin on their competitors...
