	Not only will Take Two be announcing that GTA IV has hit sales of 6 million copies already, which is amazing, but apparently 3.6 million of that was on day 1. More importantly, though, there is a game patch that is supposed to be released today which will help players of the PS3 edition play online without issue. There have been reports of lag and server disconnects. Rockstar says today's patch should help. >Link

Sony WTF, SORT OUT YOUR ONLINE SERVICE. Six attempts and I could not download the patch last night, the servers were over loaded and without this update I could not play online.

Sandra told me first off that Sony, Rockstar & Take-Two are all aware of the problem. She also confirmed that indeed, there is nothing wrong with my console (60 GB Release model), as a few quick questions regarding its functionality revealed that the problem is not with the hardware. This is confirmed, per Sandra #47020 of SCEA. Sandra also indicated matter-of-factly that although they are acutely aware there is a problem, because almost NOBODY is calling SCEA to report it, they still haven't identified the source of the problem. Everyone is calling Rockstar & Take-Two when they need to be calling Sony 1-866-345-7669 and giving them the details. She indicated the quicker more console owners start opening trouble tickets, the quicker Sony will be able to narrow the problem down to the source. She indicated that they understand our frustration, but that until it's properly reported to the right people, speculation will continue and it will just take them longer.

haven't had any issues whatsoever, but thanks for said patch.

I have 60GB PS3 with this problem...it freezes before/during the very first mission (repeatedly)! Talk about disappointment!

Here is the FIX...DISABLE YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION via PS3 console.

Tada...problem fixed...however, this sucks as I wish to play multiplayer some day (which is FREE on PS3!)
