RE5 Producer Reveals First Plot Details > |

Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi has divulged the first plot details of the new RE game, set in Africa. In the video below, he reveals that the game focuses on the origins of the Progenitor Virus, and there was no choice but to set it in Africa. RE: Code Veronica gave a slight hint, it seems, that the origins of all viruses in the series came from Africa and the Progenitor. Timeline wise, it has been ten years since the events of the original RE, and Chris is no longer a member of S.T.A.R.S., which is now defunct. Who the new organization is that Chris belongs to, and what they do exactly, will be a large part of RE5's story. Lastly, he mentions that we get to find out what exactly is happening to the sinister Umbrella Corp, and what they have been doing since the earlier games. Great news. Oh, and, the series is not over with RE5, either.
