Rock Revolution Producer Says Peripheral Should Be Universal >
2008/06/25 16:27:29: Posted by DM
Konami's associate producer for Rock Revolution, Keith Matejka, has stated that the peripherals that these type of games come with should be universal across all titles. This would certainly amke sense, and Guitar hero seems to be leading the way, since it works with Rock Band as well. EA, on the other hand, well we know. How many guitar controllers and drum pads do gamers really need, or want? We wonder what Rock Revolution is going to come with.

"Peripherals are expensive for the user and they are expensive to produce. The existing peripherals all deliver only a slightly different gameplay experience."

You've got it backwards. EA/Harmonix coded in support for GH guitars so that people could use what they want. GH refused to patch so that the RB guitars would work, forcing you to buy GH guitars if you want extras.
