NVidia & ATI Caught Fixing Vid Card Prices In US, Suit Filed >
2008/07/18 23:07:42: Posted by DM
It seems that over the last 5 years or so, Nvidia and ATI were fixing the prices of their video cards so as to dupe consumers into paying comparable high prices. It is even alleged that they held secret meetings to discuss selling strategies, etc. You can see from the charts at the link that this is most likely a valid charge. There is a class action lawsuit now pending. Sheesh, good thing we paid only 150 a piece for our Radeon 4850s!

Now thats f@cked up...Very f@cked up. WOW !! I can't believe some of the things that go on behind closed doors. Imagine some of the things that go on that the public never hears about. It's great that the internet spreads this kind of news like a virus. Both company's will be watched from all angles from now on though. Thats at least good for the consumer...

Competition is supposed to be "good" for consumers. This is an example of two competitors realizing that competition is bad for both businesses. I would be willing to bet that Nvidia is the company that started this, because their stock has been dropping by such large amounts for such a long period of time. Nevertheless, if ATI participated, they are guilty, too!

Those motherf"£$ers. Because of what they did, and are probably still doing, hardcore and core PC gaming is dead.
