	TheGameReviews claims that Uncharted 2 is going to be making its debut this year at the Leipzig Games Convention. They cite both an article from January 2008 and their own reliable sources from yesterday. Apparently David Reeves himself admitted there would be 12 announcements at Leipzig, which, even for Sony, seems steep. TGR claims that one of these 12 will be the Drake's sequel. Another game...but the "same" game.

Making sequals to good games can be a fine thing, but ONLY if there are games in EVERY genre!

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

At this point in time, the Playstation 3 has been available for nearly TWO YEARS and it still has ZERO games in certain genres; for example, the Playstation 3 has ZERO games in the Real-Time Strategy genre that is growing in popularity quite a bit this generation.



Rather than releasing new versions of the same game with software such as Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, Motorstorm 2, Sony needs to worry about filling the BIG HOLES that exist in several genres of the Playstation 3.

The reason Sony isn't willing to do that is because it is a lot easier to use the same graphics engine and same textures to create a new version of the same game than it is to create a new game with new graphics and new gameplay.

That's always been one of the two problems with the PS3: Sequalites and Lackofgenres

...oh, that and all the delayed/cancelled games.

...and the fact that the hardware is difficult, time consuming, and expensive to program

...and many others...but those were the ones that were important to talk about this time.

Expect LOTS of ps3 announcements at Leipzig!!!

Real Time Stratey has failed so many times on Console because of lack of Mouse and Keyboard support

lack of keyboard and mouse support makes me wonder why an RTS isnt on the PS3. it fully supports the keyboard and mouse, but not everyone has one though

Using a keyboard and mouse sucks when relaxing on the sofa in front of a big screen TV.

I think Uncharted 2 will be a great game, I really enjoyed the first.

Mouse and Keyboard is not gonna work, because MS and Sony doesn't allow it...

Reason to that is because they don't want Hardcore FPS and RTS player to buy Mouse and Keyboard and start focusin on it instead of getting multiple controller,

I know it sounds stupid but I always ask myself, If MS is from PC, why don't they let it work on 360 for the FPS, but no, they wana make money on a controller too...

Belive it or not It's a lot of profits...

And Unreal 2008 doesn't even play properly on PS3 and Xbox 360...

then controller wouldn't be a first choice for me.

But hey at least Playstation controller is good enough,

it's probably the best controller i ever used beside gamecube controller...

Actually Blacktiger, you can use a keyboard with the 360...im sure you cant use a mouse unless you mod, but i use my keyboard all the time.

blacktiger, keyboard and mouse work fine on the PS3. i use it when browsing online and through the old store. most developers dont support it though, so its hard to find a game that does support it. i heard UT3 and resistance both support keyboard and mouse, but i never tried it...

Responses:

(1) incoming00, the ability to use the Mouse and Keyboard is there, but most developers just don't use it with the PS3...so much so that people don't even try it in the few games that do offer the ability. That's why most PS3 games don't let you talk online while playing...it's not that the PS3 doesn't have the potential to do it, it's just that the developers don't see the point in including that feature because the PS3 doesn't come packed with a headset the way the Xbox 360 does. The whole reason why every Xbox 360 game lets you talk online while playing is because the Xbox 360 comes with a headset.

Note...i accidentally left out the part where I said "incoming00 'is correct.'" So, I just want to reinforce that I am saying incoming00 is 100% right.



(2) Limey is someone I agree with most of the time, and I agree with Limey once again. I'll take a controller instead of a keyboard/mouse anytime. A keyboard/mouse might work if you have a laptop at a kitch table, but most desks don't even have enough space to keep up with the action. It won't be long before you have to sort of "reset" the position of your mouse, and it will goof you up unless your desk is really big. It just doesn't work at all on a couch.



That's why I like a great controller like the Xbox 360 controller...plus the Xbox 360 controller rumbles, so that is cool. That's why the Xbox 360 controller is my favorite controller ever. I can understand why even the Official Playstation Magazine said the Xbox 360 controller was the most comfortable one ever made and rated it an A.



(3) blacktiger, there is a BIG difference between the Xbox 360 getting sequals and the Playstation 3 getting sequals.

The "difference" is that the Xbox 360 has GREAT GAMES in EVERY genre RIGHT NOW!

Playstation 3 has ZERO games in several genres, include the Real-Time Strategy genre.



Rather than making sequals to all their games like Resistance 2, Motorstore 2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 (which doesn't even deserve a sequal, because the first one was so poorly rated by reliable sources such as IGN and Gamespot), Sony needs to try and make a Real-Time Strategy game in order to fill that gap.

See what I'm saying??? It's a GREAT thing to make sequals, but ONLY AFTER you have games in EVERY genre...and Playstation 3 does NOT have games in every genre in the way that the Xbox 360 does. That's why it's okay for Xbox 360 to get sequals, but NOT the Playstation 3.



It's kind of like Baseball...Every team wants to get players to Home base, but in order to get there you need to cross the first three bases. Microsoft has the bases loaded with games, so every time there is another hit, the runner from 3rd base comes home. But with Sony, they are trying to score runs, but it's almost like a couple of bases don't exist, because PS3 has ZERO games in a certain genres.

...and for your information, the Real-Time Strategy genre is more popular now than it ever has been! and the release of Halo Wars will cause the genre to EXPLODE in popularity even more.

Try this... If you been using Mouse on your computer or laptop for a long time, go back to wired Mouse its hundred times smoother and faster...
