Gearbox Developing Halo 4 As Next-Generation Launch Title? >
2008/08/26 12:37:56: Posted by DM
It doesn't get more rumor mill than this one, folks, but this is one even we have to report. According to the latest issue of OXM, Gearbox could be developing Halo 4 for the launch of the next generation Xbox. Now, according to the CEO of Gearbox, the game they are working on is "big," and he "cannot oversell it." He also states that is is much bigger than anything they are currently working on. As was said, very few franchises will make a CEO play down his own games in development. We will be hearing about this for a while, folks.

So far, classified as "rumor" by gearbox...so far.

They did port Halo 1 to the PC, so they would probably be the best pick if MS wanted to go with a 3rd party dev. However I just don't see Bungie allowing anyone else but themselves make the nest entry in the main series. IF Gearbox is really working on a halo, I expect it to be an offshoot series of games.

I'm more interested in what Bungie had to pull from E3 than what Gearbox is working on though. If they just got the green light last February, well there really wouldn't be much to talk about ATM IMO
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

I wopuld love to see Bunge continue making games in the Halo universe. But they need to make a new engine to really push the capabilities of the 360. Halo 3 is beyond fun, but I had a hard time defending the graphics to the SDF...

Well that's just my opinion anyways.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

It's all to do with the memory in these systems. There is so much I could say to these SDFs regarding Halo 3's graphics but why bother when they wouldn't want to listen?

I have taken quite a few screen shots to prove how halo 3 stacks up. The only drawback is either the lack of AA or the sub-HD resolution, and again the memory bottleneck played a part in this. There really is a lot of impressive tech there, these SDF people would just need to open their eyes to see it.

Bungie did rewrite the renderer for the Halo engine from the ground up, so they did do what you want, and of course they are still optimizing their engine as all teams do. So for a first attempt on the hardware it was damn good, can't wait to see what kind of jump we see in further generations of the engine.
Written by VaeVictus on 2008/08/26

I had no problem with the graphics. I was hoping for a better mp experience (the maps are meh @ best) and at least a "limited" sprint button. It's a good game, but it is given way too much credit. A solid 8 - 8.5 is a more realistic score.
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

PimpDaddy is correct.

One of the reasons why it is always good to create new IP franchises for each console is because you can create new forms of enemies built with a lot of detail that is optimized for that hardware unit.

Halo 3 looks great, but it was limited because of the simple fact that the original Halo was built on the original Xbox. If the graphics of Halo would have been modified too much in the "trilogy" it might not have been well received.

If there is a new "trilogy" of Halo games that takes place a long time before the first one, or a long time in the future, or on another world, or with different aliens, it would mean a lot of detail could be added to the game in order to optimize the software for Xbox 360 even further.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

Well I can see both of your points. But man with all the Halo 3 hype I was hoping for better graphics then what we got. They still looked good for Halo's art style. But your right Kenny K I can;t wait to see what they do next now that they have had more time to optimize for the 360 hardware...

VaeVictus, I don't have a problem with multiplayer because I am beyond hopeless :p But I have heard other people complain. I didn't play Halo or Halo 2 much so to me Halo 3 multiplayer was new and exciting, till I found out that I could take getting owned at Halo 3 to a whole new level :(
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Why do I slap my forehead everytime I read one of Krogan's posts? Halo 3 was limited because Halo was not intended to be a trilogy? Are you serious?

I hope Nemesis steps in if I'm wrong, but the part of an engine is called the renderer (generally) and bungie re-wrote the entire rendering engine from scratch on the 360. Yeah sure there is still some code improved and based on older versions of the engine, but in terms of graphics, this isn't effect due to Halo not planned as a trilogy.

Just read Victus' post, so wait a minute, since Halo doesn't have a sprint feature, it deserves no more than an 8.5? Sorry there are too many features and too much polish for that score IMO. And I know we're mostly speaking of opinion here, but thinking objectively, it's one of the most solid shooters out there. No reason to expect things from a sequel that don't make sense or are against the gameplay mechanics.

Just skimmed my post, sorry the renderer is the part of the engine that runs the graphics. I forgot to clarify tat earlier.

Also, out of curiosity pimp, what more were you expecting from the graphics? I knew what to expect so I wasn't disappointed per say, but I can see where you're coming from
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

Sorry I was expecting a visual masterpiece ala Gears of War. I understand Halo 3's art direction. All the added colors. But still. I see games like Gears or Uncharted and I think DAMN.

But honestly I care more about the gameplay in Halo 3 than the graphics. It delivered beyond my expectations as far as gameplay goes.

Maybe I was hoping to see something even remotely close to the CGI trailer for Halo 3.

I think that maybe I just expect every game to be Gears quality and when it's not I am disappointed...
Written by blacktiger on 2008/08/26

Oh f*ck ! no way Gearbox is developing this game.</br></br>This is huge for FPS fanboy sad.gif

Edit: Please edit out your cuss words. This is a TOS violation. As you can see I edited the word f*ck. Thank you.
Written by jb33 on 2008/08/26

A sprint button would make gameplay frustration and unbalanced IMO. It would give people other method to run away and hide to avoid being killed. Halo is as perfect as gameplay can get right now for an online shooter. I really don't understand why people hate on this game so much. IMHO No other game even comes close to the level of gameplay that Halo 3 offers.

People complain about the damage system, but it's made to be fun and competitive all at the same time. It takes skill when your playing other good people to find and finish kills instead of hiding in a house like in COD4. Sure, the game isn't "Realistic" like other games, but it's virtually flaw free and offers gameplay that FAR out paces it's opponents.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

I see pimpdaddy, well I can see how you were disappointed.

There are things though to keep in mind. Gears and Uncharted are gorgeous games and do have more of a "wow" factor than halo 3, but these games aren't really comparable. Uncharted and Gears are more linear than halo which treats each level as a sandbox. Not to mention that since bungie included the camera feature in Halo 3, they also left less areas where they could take shortcuts with the graphics, something that epic and Naughty Dog did not have to bother with. Other things also have to be taken into account like physics, draw distances, and etc.

When you say CGI trailer for Halo 3 are you talking about the first commercial? If so, you are crazy man =p Crysis doesn't even look as good as a pre-rendered cut-scene.
Written by jb33 on 2008/08/26

The damage system is where alot of other games fail IMO. COD4 allows people to shack up in a house and just pick people with one or two pulls. To me...Thats not skill, others will argue, but it doesn't take much skill to camp and wait for people to pass by. Halo 3 is definitely showing it's age though.

I'm interested to see what they do for the supposed 4th addition of Halo. Halo's art direction is what ruins the graphics for most people. If you really take a closer look at things you will realize how good the game really looks. Other games like COD4 strive for realism while Bungie created it's own universe that has bright vibrant colors instead of the dark and gritty pallet that most games offer.

Gears is IMHO broken on so many levels it just ruins the gameplay for me. The whole "Cover" system is not my style and the controls feel broken to me. The game feels slow as hell and the run button makes it look like someone puked on the screen...LOL. To each their own, but Gears can't even compare to the level of gameplay that Halo offers.
Written by VaeVictus on 2008/08/26

Kenny, not only does the lack of a limited sprint button diminish the game, the multiplayer maps are not very well designed in my opinion. Halo 2 and Halo 1 maps were much better imho.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

jb33, I wouldn't really say that Halo's gameplay "FAR" outpaces any other game, it's just too different. Last gen, yes, Halo had a level of polish that VERY few shooters reached. However this gen, other teams have caught up in many ways but still offer gameplay that is very different than the feel of Halo.

That's why I don't think Halo can really be compared to any other shooter, it may not be in a class of it's own anymore, but it does have a feel of it's own. The overall mechanics may not be as fresh since this is a sequel, but they benefit from having VERY good balance from years of polish and refinement.

So I agree that the hate on halo is unwarranted, but people usually hate things that gather a lot of attention and praise.

When talking about overhyping a game, I really don't see how Halo 3 was over hyped either. MS and bungie never showed any fake footage, they mainly let the game speak for itself while teasing fans on their updates covering gameplay mechanics.

No, the hype was the effect of the fanbase and those who were willing to believe them. I keep my hype in check for every game, and it helps me with my expectations.

@ Victus, well I can see where you're going with the maps. Although there are as many maps in Halo 3 that I like/don't like as there were in Halo 2. I don't think they are designed horribly, when you can see the intention behind the design of a level, then I find that as success. I just don't agree with some of their desicions in some levels.

CoD4's are much worse though =p

Kenny K: I am crazy. Carazy about eye candy. I am the true definition of a Graphics Wh*re. I wonder if it is just a guy thing. Because I have the same problem with women :p
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

lol I'm a graphics whore too, but I'm also a tech whore and there is a lot about Halo 3 that impresses me there. Between the huge levels, great alien models, sharp textures, gorgeous water physics, and some of the best lighting in the business there is plenty of eye-candy there to see. It's just fuzzed due to the IQ damaging resolution or lack of AA.

Then again, all the snazzy tech in the world won't help if the art direction doesn't tickle your fancy and I think that's what most people find stale with Halo.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

Kenny K: Well to be fair. Mu brother in law and I played co-op campaign mode last Thanksgiving. He was drooling. Over the game that is :p

I will fire the game back up tonight and have a look around. I guess I should just stay away from CGI trailers. But damn. Once consoles get that powerful... *wipes away tear*
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

If the industry stays within the current HD standards, we should see near that CG quality with the next gen systems.

Assuming that they keep making the jumps they have before.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

Kenny K: So in your opinion how would you build "said" console to give myself and others the graphics we desire???
Written by Nemesis IX on 2008/08/26

This may sound silly but the most impressive texture in Halo for me was the tree bark texture. i've never seen one so good, better than anything any other game so far. and as far as next gen is concerned and keeping with trees in mind at a havoc presentation i was at one of the designers said he thinks foilage and especially trees are going to be the big leap forward in terms of realism and function in the next systems.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Pimpdaddy: The tech isn't available right now, but give it 3 more years and we should be close to that level. Of course while real time graphics will always improve, so will pre-rendered graphics.

Nemesis: I don't think it's silly at all, I pretty much agree but also with the water and it's physical properties. Even though Bioshock was supposed to have the best water, Halo 3's looks so much better IMO. I've taken a few screens in halo of just bark, a rock, or some ground just to show how detailed the game really is.

All this graphic whore talk makes me want to start a thread just about graphics, but I'm sure we can talk about and appreciate graphics across many games without it turning into a fanboy war. I am surprised and pleased by how this topic has gone though
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Kenny K,

I have the answer to your question.

The reason "why" you are "always" slapping your head (which may explain why you behave the way you do) in response to my comments is the exact same reason "why" a little 1st grader makes a strange face when he sees his daddy "adding letters" in his Calculus and Algebra classes...Lack of Understanding!

The point I was making about Halo 3 being more limited than a new franchise like Gears of War has to do with the "Foundation" that the franchise was built upon.

If the graphics of a game like Halo 3 are changed too much, there are a lot of hardcore gamers who may not like it, even though it would look more "graphically impressive." From the point of view of those people, it would still look "different."

Halo 3 was part of the "trilogy" of games where the first two were on the original Xbox, but the third game was on the Xbox 360...that is NOT like building a pyramid, and it is NOT like building a skyscraper...it is like building a REVERSE PYRAMID where the foundation is much smaller than what stands upon it.

Kenny K, I don't expect you to understand these things, because they are apparently over your head.

Just remember, we are not "adding letters" we are adding variables where the letters represent numbers...Well, I don't want you to hit yourself in the head and risk brain damage, so I will stop right there.

*

...But everyone please notice that this long comment was written as a RESPONSE to Kenny K's aggressive/rude comment...maybe Kenny K should just IGNORE me. There IS an "ignore" button Kenny K...your friend VaeVictus has recommended this many times, and I agree with him.
Written by Nemesis IX on 2008/08/26

The hardware tech might not be there but the software certainly is, unreal 3 is even getting licenced for films now due to the post processing effects being done in realtime in unreal 3. One of epics goals is to break the film industry, i've read that if you want to use there engine for film quality CG effects they will even licence it to you for free because they want to break that market. The software is availabe but the machines would cost a fortune, hopefully the next gen consoles will be able to take full advantage of every effect an rendering engine can produce.

Oh and G.I. is meant to be the big selling point in Unreal Engnie 4.

i chose to ignore Krogan and that he didn't just kill my post.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Krogan, you're talking more about art direction than the tech underneath the hood of these games.

@ nemsis, is there an ignore feature? I thought that was a feature this site lacks.
Written by Nemesis IX on 2008/08/26

yeah i wish there was an ignore button, its something DM needs to sort out. i guess just visually ignoring his posts will have to do for the moment.

"Please take the short time required to do this so that you can "Ignore" me in a way that will cause you to never see the things I write again.

If you acknowledge that NOT seeing what you type will improve the site a great deal, why not just leave and improve the site right there? What's the point in posting here if no one can see what you type? I wouldn't want to post anywhere I couldn't take place in a conversation............oh that's right you have no interest in a logical discussion.

You do realize that you're admitting that a site void of you is a better site, right?
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Kenny K:

I am not "admitting" anything.

I am "acknowledging" that a site without "arguments" and "swear words" and "cussing" and "insults" and "derogatory remarks" primarily made by: blacktiger, dudemand, kenny K, VaeVictus, Nemesis IX, would very much "improve" the website for all the people who don't like to see those sort of childish/immature/unprofessional forms of writing.

We need to be realistic Kenny K. You don't like me, and I don't like you. But the major difference between the two of us is that I did my absolute best to say nice things to you and about you. I tried to have a fresh start so that quarrels from the past could be forgotten. I always went out of my way to be a leader and say things like "I agree with Kenny K," and "Kenny K explained this in a great way." On the other hand, you ripped on me every chance you got, and you never even replied to the nice PMs I sent you. You were not willing to follow my leadership and behave in the sort of adult/mature/professional way that I did.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Immiture, just like your trolling right? Or childish, like you ignoring some comments and twisting around others right?
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

So, we need to be responsible and ask ourselves what we can do about the problem. I can count the number of times I have sworn on this website on only one hand without tapping into the thumb-reserve. But you swear all the time. You are a very aggressive person who says mean things to people on a regular basis. Honestly, you and those around you will benefit a great deal from "Ignoring" me. The same can be said about blacktiger, VaeVictus, dudeman, and Nemesis IX.

The website will benefit if arguments don't occur. New people looking at the website will see intelligent comments from me, and intelligent comments from you. But you won't see my comments, which means nobody will see any form of argument or swearing, since the primary motive for swearing will be removed.

Those are my thoughts. I would be happy to hear yours, Kenny K.

But I honestly think the "Ignore" feature is the best solution.

*

Kenny K:

I didn't even get my comment posted and you are already calling names again. This would not have happened if you put me on your "Ignore" list.

Rather than "admitting" or even "acknowledging the possibility" that you are behaving in an immature/unprofessional way, you feel it is better to go on the offensive and aggressively refer to me as a "troll."

You proved my point perfectly, Kenny K.

I'm not going to waste time with pointless comments telling you which direction to move...

Just do what is best for everyone, and please "Ignore" me.

Add me to your "Ignore" list following the simple instructions I posted above

*

Nemesis IX, blacktiger, VaeVictus, dudeman,...Please do the same.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

So basically anyone here with a brain should ignore you right? How can you and I both have intelligent comments when they are never agree? No, your comments are merely opinions and nothing more and it's sad if anyone reading your comments actually considers them factual.

I haven't sworn at all in this topic, so you can't fall back on that excuse.

How about you not post things to cause controversy? How about you just take place in discussions without turning everything into a console war? Can you at least admit that everything you post is pro-360 and anti-ps3?
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/26

Krogan them ignoring you is half the battle. The other half is you trying to keep your comments short and sweet so as not to annoy others.

As it is on this thread alone you have 3 comments that it take up my whole screen and have to be cycled through to read the other comments people post here. I have compared your comments to others and you are taking up way "TOO" much space. To the point where your shadowing other peoples comments.

This is an issue that can easily be fixed.

Since we have the curse words under control for now. I will turn my attention to the spamming, personal battles, and off topic rants.

Everyone: Please try to stay on topic. This thread started off great. Then it went downhill. I have pinpointed what caused it and will not allow it to continue.
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

PimpDaddy:

I think you are doing a great job...but look at how Kenny K's post above yours uses the derogatory statement of "So anyone with a brain should ignore you."

...No, Kenny K, I'm simply saying that YOU should "Ignore," me...and I think it is amazing that you have not done so yet.

I am simply saying that blacktiger, VaeVictus, dudeman, and Nemesis IX should also click "Ignore."

I get plenty of private messages from lots of people, and the majority of people on this website say nearly identical things to me, such as "Krogan, you take the most criticism, but only from the same small group of people. Krogan, your predictions come true more than anyone else. "Krogan, you are right most of the time, but those guys don't like to admit it." And "Krogan, you describe the facts better than anyone else."

If this small group of negative people clicked "Ignore" the website would be far superior to what it is with a small group of people replying to me in such a large number of negative ways.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

So not only do you reply to yourself in the threads, but now you send PMs to yourself??

How can the "majority" of the people on the site send you these positive PMs when you asking the "majority" of the site to ignore you?

Get it through your head that there is a reason why you get so many negative responses. It's not us, it's YOU

I give up though, it's clear as day but you refuse to see it. Thanks krogan for killing another topic, good job.
Written by whYte420 on 2008/08/26

You people are hilarious, i'm not going to ignore any of you!
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Kenny K:

WHEN are YOU going to "Get it through YOUR head" that there are 5,662 Registered Users on Gamers Reports...

...and LITERALLY ONLY ONE-TENTH of ONE PERCENT choose to argue with me on a regular basis...

I have received HUNDREDS of PMs from people who offer their support and words of encouragement!

...kenny K, Get it through YOUR head that I am NOT asking "the majority" of the people on this website to ignore me. I am simply asking FIVE people on this website to ignore me.

"The Majority" would mean at least 50.01%, which would be asking 2,832 people to "ignore" me.

I am only asking FIVE aggressive/rude people to "ignore" me. That represents a "Minority" of LESS-THAN 1%...in fact, it is LESS THAN one-tenth of one percent!!!

Once again, in my TRADITIONAL style, I have posted FACTS with NUMBERS to prove what I am saying.

Kenny K, one of the ONLY realistic reasons why you would continuously theorize that the small group of five people I listed represent "the majority" of users "with a brain" is because YOU have such a large "inferiority complex" that causes you to see things ONLY from "your point of view."

At this point it appears you are afraid to click "Ignore," because your posts and arrogant comments suggest that one of the likely reasons why you are motivated to post comments is because you desire the attention that you "believe" you are getting from the "Majority" of the website users. Apparently you do not want to "ignore" me, because you believe you would lose attention from rebuttals.

*

Kenny K,

I know you are the kind of guy who likes to have the last word, but it will be impossible for that to happen if you click "Ignore." So, we need to come up with a plan that will allow you to click "Ignore," but still have the last word.

Here it is:

It is August 26, 2008. If you do not reply any more to my comments, we will all be 100% aware that you are "Ignoring" me, simply becuase you did not mention my name.

or

You could make your last word say, "I am 5 seconds away from clicking Ignore." And then Ignore me.

...But please, follow my leadership and Ignore me, for the good of the thousands of people who visit this website--most of which do not post comments at all.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Leadership.....................lmao
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Response to Kenny K:

Yes,

"Leadership"

The quality that you do NOT have!

A "selfish" person like you is not even "man" enough to use the Ignore feature to do what is best for everyone on the website.

Don't let your "personal" grudges stand in the way of doing what is best for others, Kenny K. Follow my high-quality form of moral leadership, and please do what is best for others. Please show your maturity and take the professional course of action by using the "Ignore" feature of this website. That way, you will not be exposed to a stimuli that will trigger a reaction of immature/childing/unprofessional (e.g. Kenny K: lmao) form of text to be written.

Kenny K,

If you don't want to follow my "Leadership," then be a man and do the right thing by taking a different path towards the same goal.

Just make sure you end up clicking "Ignore."
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/26

Anyways, yeah I'm curious to see what the Gearbox CEO is hyping up
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Kenny K:

Thank you for confirming that you are not enough of a "leader" to do what is best for the team.

Your actions (or lack thereof) have made it clear that you are not enough of a leader to use the "Ignore" feature that this website offers for this exact type of scenario.

If you are not going to use the "ignore" feature, please do not make any sort of aggressive/rude/childish/immature/derogatory remark against me or anyone else. Other people are offended by such actions and it hurts the quality of this beautiful website.

If you want to debate with something I said, you are 100% welcome to do so, but please do so in a way that is mature and professional.

Moving back to Bungie's Halo project (One of them), I wonder when they will reveal their next game when time is running out for the year. The game will be revealed this year, though it will be the same trailer that was pulled from E3, but I can't think of any shows coming up outside of TGS and we know bungie won't be showing anything new there.

Hmmmmm......
Written by Krogan Battle Master Urdnot Wrex on 2008/08/26

Kenny K:

I agree with you completely. I thought you did an excellent job of explaining the facts. Bungie probably will want to save the announcement of a new Halo game for America; although, it wouldn't surprise me if they had a motive to do it someplace in Europe, since Microsoft has now placed so much importance on the European market.

If you would like to play Halo 3 sometime on Xbox Live, it would be my pleasure. I'm trying to find someone really good to help me beat it on Legendary.
Written by madgunde on 2008/08/26

Damn. Looks like the ignore function doesn't work on article comments, unless it only works on future posts. I can still see Krogan's comment posts. Oh well.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/27

Krogan: That's it you are "offically" warned. If you do not reduce the size of your posts immediately. I will reduce them myself, or remove them.

I have had multiple complaints. Thank you.

Wow I just this whole thread, it was some Funny Sh!t, Dorkgan Kept rambling on and Kenny K just said, "Anyways, yeah I'm curious to see what the Gearbox CEO is hyping up "

Dorkgan, Seriously I just skip your long @$$ post. You know what's sad, when you are done recycling things, and you really want to say something we haven't heard, we are just going to skip through it, thinking its the same ol sh!t. whats worst is that you might actually have something good to say. And don't respond to my comment, there is a %110 chance I just might skip it.

I don't care who makes the next Halo as long as they keep they same formula and same feel some change but not too much, I think it will suck if they make it a launch title for next gen. It should be a 2nd or 3rd wave of games when Devs are really familiar with the hardware capabilities. IMO

Corrections : WOw I just read this whole thread.

=== HAIL TO THE VICTOR ===

=== Krogan Retires in Victory ===

At 10:00am EST, Urdnot Wrex--the honorable Krogan Battle Master--decided that his work was complete at the Gamers Reports website.

Final Fantasy 13--announced for release on the Xbox 360 at the 2008 E3--was the greatest victory of all for Urdnot Wrex.

When FF13 was announced for Xbox 360, Urdnot Wrex was called out of retirement by friends, and hailed to as a victor by those who supported him.

The enemies of Urdnot Wrex will be thankful to see him retire.

Urdnot Wrex was the most feared individual on the Internet by the Sony Defense Force--the group of people who refuse to admit that the Playstation 3 is a huge step backward for the Playstation brand and a huge financial failure for Sony.

When Urdnot posted comments, they were often criticized for being "too long." Life has taught us that people do not criticize their equals; people only criticize those that are different--often those who are superior.

Leadership: Urdnot Wrex is an unselfish person who is a team player and a valiant leader, willing to do what is best for others. As a result, Urdnot Wrex has decided to put his personal desire aside, and retire from the Gamers Reports website in order create the best reading environment possible for the 5,662 Registered Users who currently exist on Gamers Reports.

This will be my last comment or post. I humbly ask that it not be edited. I thank all of the hundreds of people who encouraged me and stood with me over the last three years as we set the record straight, proving the Xbox 360 is the best console available.

Finally, I just want to say it was my pleasure proving that games like Devil May Cry 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Virtua Fighter 5, Assassins Creed, Final Fantasy 13, Fatal Inertia 3, and many others would be released for the Xbox 360.

Sincerely:

Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/27

dudeman: Let him take his parting shot. He won't be posting on GamersReports anymore. It's done...

Besides. The official way to complain would be to PM me so I can handle it :p

damn the time difference, i always end up getting almost nothing of the hot topics

krogans gonna come back as another account
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/27

Hail to the victor? It's these kind of agendas that are just sick. I really hate it that he thinks he won anything, it makes me want to puke.

Anyways, if he does come back under a different name then account spamming should be reason for an IP ban.

Regardless let's enjoy the time that he's gone. Now you sony fanboys need to keep your cool and we can finally start having some decent conversations.

letshope that people learn and that posting gets better, and people can stay on topic, less abuses being hurled will also help
Written by VaeVictus on 2008/08/27

Actually, we are victorious. Cue up Queen.

i swear it sounds like krogan would rather talk more about him self then actual games.
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/27

Everyone: Lets stop beating a dead horse. Krogan won't post here anymore. Just leave it alone.

For future reference it's ok to disagree. Just try to keep things civil. Thank you for either editing the curse words in your comments or not using them.

Also if I could ask you guys to keep your comments at the current length they are right now. Nothing is more annoying for other users on here than to have to cycle through walls of text because somebody abused the double space, copied and pasted a novel, or just wouldn't stop talking...

Oh yeah. One more thing. Du Du Du Dun Dun Dun Dun another one bites the dust. For you VaeVictus.

Sorry about my long posts, I'll try to keep them shorter

Well now that were back on topic. I just played co-op with B1ueBurner this morning on Halo 3. I took some time in between getting killed to look at the environments, textures, etc... They do look good. But the character models I thought could have been much better.

Also I wonder what Halo game Bungie is developing right now.

Edit: Kenny K. I don;t know if you were being sarcastic or not. But just to be sure I double checked the length of your comments. They were fine. As long as I can display your comments and at least 1 more on screen at the same time then it's all good.

Written by incoming00 on 2008/08/27

i know urdnots gone, but i just wanna prove how wrong this statement from him was "I have received HUNDREDS of PMs from people who offer their support and words of encouragement!" GR only allows 50 messages. :p
Written by dudeman on 2008/08/27

He said 'poprocker' offered him support via PM in an earlier post and i know this is false...since I AM poprocker.
Written by incoming00 on 2008/08/27

ya know, if i was the moderator, i would just delete that final post urdnot made just to piss him off... i guess thats why i'm not the moderator! lol......
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/27

@ Pimpdaddy, no I wasn't being sarcastic, I just know that my posts can be longer that others at times.
Written by incoming00 on 2008/08/27

On Topic: i really hope its not Halo 4, but given that Halo 3 ended the same way Halo 1 ended, then its pretty much expected. well, we'll see... its way to early to speculate anything at all right now
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/08/27

Everyone: For the FINAL time please do not mention anything about Krogan anymore. It's over. He has voluntarily left the site. I allowed him to leave one *last* comment.

If he does "unretire" then we will deal with it appropriately.

This can be so easy. I don't know why you guys are making it so hard. You would think most of you would be happy and just go about your business.

I would hate to have to lock this thread...
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/27

Halo 3 didn't end the same way as halo 1 =/

I loved all the little "nods" during Halo 3. Bungie has a unique and ingenious sense of humor. The first thing the Arbitor says to the humans in H3, "as if it were so easy" I think, was also the last thing he said to the humans. Master chief starts the trilogy in a sleeping chamber and ends the trilogy in one.

There are plenty of little things like this for the fans that I wish more developers did.

@Kenny K, look back into Halo 1. we caused the desctruction of the Halo and drove away like crazy on a warhog trying to escape. now Halo 3, again we cause the destruction to the exact same Halo(remember, it was being rebuilt by the Ark, or whatever it was), and again we drove away like crazy trying to escape it! sounds like the same ending seeing that the other 6 rings are still around, the flood is still alive, and we've made peace with the Covenant, not the Brutes. it left alot of open answers that lead to more sequels.

i already got tired of that "war" and would like to see new chapters in the Halo franchise... like maybe the forerunners.
Written by Kenny K on 2008/08/27

Oh no, I agree, there is a lot left to explore in the Halo universe. I'm not doubting that.

I'm just saying that Halo 1 specifically lead into a sequel. While there are still plenty aspects in the Halo world to discover, I don't think that Halo 3 leads directly into a sequel. The covenant war is over, gravemind is dead, and the universe won't die from the halo rings. Other than that he ending was more up to the players interpertation IMO.
