Confirmed: MS Closing Down Halo Wars Dev After Release > |
2008/09/10 11:15:16: Posted by DM | |
This ties in to our last news item, but here is the official separate, confirmation. Microsoft is indeed closing down Ensemble Studios, the Halo Wars developer, after the game's release. This is in order to reform the group into one developer which will support HW, as well as some other new projects.

I wonder if this is what Bungie was worried about in continuing to be a MS first party studio. I mean, I needed to look Ensemble up on Wikipedia to know what they were famous for (other than Halo Wars). They've only ever made Age of Empires and Age of Mythology games. Not to knock them, some of those games were VERY popular, but I can't help but think that the lack of diversification ultimately lead to their closure. Bungie has a much more diverse list of games under it's belt, but if MS only wanted them to work on Halo games for the next 10 years, it might stifle their future potential as well.

It had nothing to do with Halo madgunde, and it had everything to do with IPs.Please stop wondering over things that you obviously have a negative outlook on.
