EA Interested In Bringing Left 4 Dead To PS3 > |

Valve man Gabe Newell has stated that even though there are no current plans to bring Left 4 Dead to the PS3, they are "interested" in the Sony console. According to Newell, Valve has to figure out where to grab the resources from, "we don't have the bandwidth," he said, We're doing the 360 and PC version ourselves.""I think we need to do a good job with supporting the PS3 with the Source engine. Our engine licensees would like us to do it. I think we need to invest more in getting that in there. So I think that we'll, over time, be directly more and more supporting the PS3 as our bandwidth allows us to."

I can't check at work, but how old is this article? I could have sworn this was said a while ago.I respect Gabe and Valve as their games are always top notch, but he needs to be consistent with his comments. L4D on the 360 isn't being developed in-house at Valve, Certain Affinity is working on the 360 version. On top of all of this, Lombardi (at valve) just told 1up that they don't have any PS3 developers and EA doesn't plan to support the orange box. Isn't this kinda contradicting Gabe's comments? Either way, I hope they pull it together. Valves games are awesome and every gamer should be able to enjoy it. Left 4 Dead is going to be the co-op game of forever and PS3 owners shouldn't be left out in cold.

Yeah, I just saw that during lunch. Well I hope they get their @sses in gear, I don't care for when studios are flakey with the details.

Gabe's been fairly negative on the PS3 in the past if I recall, but money talks and I don't think any decent size developer can ignore the potential sales that come from developing for both (or even all three) platforms.Heard a lot of good things about Left 4 Dead, hope we see a PS3 version and that it does get decent treatment.
