Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo America President, said Nintendo will focus their efforts on user-generated content, as he believes, as does Nintendo in general, that it is the future of interactive entertainment. Speaking at the BMO conference, Reggie said it was the end of "passive entertainment," and explained how the Wii has somewhat begun to reflect this attitude.

Fils-Amie:"User generated content is the future. However, our technology will always be 10 years behind as well as our approach to online gaming. I mean, look at us, surely people won't get tired of shovelware, PS2/GC ports and gimped multiplatform titles next gen right? We won't be falling off of our perch anytime soon. History has not shown the leader of one gen to fall abrubtly...oh wait!?!"

i disagree to a point. i think user generated content is great but i like stories, so stories told me are great too. sometimes i wanna know your story because i already know my story in my head

I think a healthy mixture of both would suffice. Then again, as often as people doubt Nintendo's business stratergies ... you cant exactly argue with their sales performance.
