Now, we are not sure if this is a misprint or speculation, but according to some printed Tecmo PR from Japan, Dead Or Alive is on the way to the Playstation 3. You can see the image for yourself if you click on the news title. Has Itagaki decided to go both ways? You decide.*Update*: According to TVG, Tecmo has issued a statement claiming that this ad was, in fact, a typo. (Thanks, Hardwood)

Werid, i thought doa4 is only for xbox 360 but i look carefully the box art is not saying "ONLY ON XBOX"

I translated the last sentence in the yellow box, and it seems like there are going to be 2 titles for the Dead or Alive series that have been decided for the PS3. Not exactly sure what this means, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

DOA4 Hardcore?Ninja Gaiden: I'm Black, Black, Black-ddy, Black, Black?

I don't really give a crap anymore heh. Itagaki's one cocky fugly s.o.b :P I guess Bill Gates stopped paying him crapload of money for his 'loyalty'. DOA would LOOK nice on the PS3, gameplay still sucks like hell.
And yeah, it'll probably be DOA4 HC or DOA Ultimate 2 or something heh. There are plenty of ways to get around exclusivity contracts, providing that Team Ninja do want to port it to PS3.

Hmm I don't like the sound of this at all :D He'll obviously have more time to work on the ps3 version so will he put things in the ps3 version he didn't put on the xbox360 version? Will the 360 crowd be shortchanged or will both 360 and ps3 users be treated equally.
Watch how quickly talks about dead or alive being terrible by the ps3 crowd quickly change into OMG YES COMING TO THE PS3! It sucked when they thought it was only on 360 now its apparently good cause its on ps3 thats how it usually works :)

Team Ninja is an unofficial 1st party dev, no DOA on PS3...MS calls the shots in regards to DOA afterall
Written by optaviusx on 2006/01/13
Yea thats what I thought as well, but that magazine page scares me :D

Team Ninja and DOA are owned by Tecmo.. not MS. Microsoft may have exclusivity contracts on certain DOA titles but Team Ninja could easily make a DOA game for any system they wanted. We all know Team Ninja jumped into bed with Gates during the Xbox launch and I'm sure some money exchanged hands to ensure DOA3 was Xbox exlusive.. but that doesn't mean that all future Team Ninja projects belong to Xbox.

The main reason I remember hearing on why DOA3 wasn't for PS2 was because on the ice/snow board like the game just barely ran 30fps without any characters in the level. So they decided to do what they wanted to do, they needed at minimum the power of the Xbox, so the PS2 was out of the question. Now that the PS3 is coming out after that 360, and both are high performance, maybe he will develop for both.

It says that details are still scarce for the PS3 and revolution, so the company basically hasn't decided yet. There are 2 more DOA titles being planned, which MIGHT (de mo in the Japanese) come out for the PS3.
In the blue type, it clearly states that the 2 games are being planned for the 360 (the yellow box saying the ps3 is a possibility... but nothing more at this point.)

thanks ringomon for the interpretation.

typo :O
Written by mayatola (2) on 2006/01/14
Sorry bro, but in this usage 'demo' emphasizes the noun, the noun in question in this case being PS3. However, yeah, it makes little sense when in context with the rest of the page. Gamepro has already confirmed with Tecmo that this was a typo, so I guess that's that. Typo is not my fault, I read it right.

I for one hope they stay with 360 and make the best games possible for it and not have to worry about making them for ps3
Written by optaviusx on 2006/01/15
I seriously hope itagaki keeps ninja gaiden 2 a 360 exclusive because to be completely honest the ps3 has so many exclusives to begin with the 360 needs something to hold on to and with ninja gaiden being as big as it is itagaki knows it'd help the 360.I mean hey the original ninja gaidens only came out for xbox and they were monster successful so whether or not japan likes xbox or 360 ninja gaiden 2 is easily going to surpass the original success of the original ninja gaiden.
