	Since Nintendo can not churn out the DS units fast enough in Japan since the WiFi service launched, the cost of the unit has skyrocketed. The DS now costs at least 29000 Yen almost everywhere, which equates to about $260.00 USD. This will surely fuel many a DS Vs. PSP forum debate. Click on the news title for the store images.

I'm guessing it's the store owners, not nintendo.

i gotta say, i absolutely love my DS. to the point that i was wondering how i was going to scrape up enough money to buy a PSP also, until i started playing the DS games.

Now I don't care about getting a psp at all, it's just not important. I'm having too much fun with the DS games. Finally, innovation.

It's not Nintendo moving the price up, it's the stores.

Nintendo still suggests the standard price.

So what are they thinking? Most likely how happy they are they made the DS.

problem with japan is they are all fanboys, thats why microsoft cant get in there because they have thier hands stuck too far up ninetndo and sony arses. However in this case nintendo because sony havent been in the handheld market for that long.

I mean seriously the best games for ds are.........

2 of those games are remakes yet people critisize psp for having ports. There ports of games 7 year OLDDD GAMES. Then for fuck sake you want to pay for a coloured version of tamgotchis. Oh well some people really are that dumb :D

or electroplankton, or castlevania, or animal crossing, or tony hawk sk8land, plus all the gba games... i love my psp too but i play my ds WAY more.

I play my DS WAY more too....but to call it innovative, you'd have to have JUST started playing games. There's nothing new here.

Well i certainly didnt know that the DS is still selling out in japan more than a YEAR after it was released. Hopefully Nintendo will be able to ship more units out there to make up for the demand.

I also find it ironic that 'bill gates' has refered to others being 'fanboys' ... rofl.
