THQ has filed suit against ActiBliz in California for copyright infringement. THQ claims that the Activision-Blizzard game "SCORE International Baja 1000" directly copies box art from THQ's "Baja: Edge Of Control." Once you look at the box art images, it is almost uncanny how similar they are. We think this one will go THQ's way.

Blizzard's move to shore up their PvP combat in World of Warcraft is indeed a reaction to Warhammer Online. Speaking to GI, Mythis Boss Mark Jacobs spoke about the latest PvP features to be added in the latest WoW expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, and how many of them are similar to features added in Warhammer Online. But instead of getting upset, as many developers do these days, he takes it as a compliment, the high road, so to speak. Class act."Oh absolutely," responded Jacobs, when asked if this was a move by Blizzard to position World of Warcraft against Warhammer Online. "I think imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

Wired spoke with Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime about the company's direction and upcoming games. One of the bigger revelations of the interview was that the next Blizzard MMO will not be World of Warcraft 2. Sorry folks, I know millions of you just let out a large sigh. Who knows what it may be though, Starcraft MMO? Diablo MMO? We will see soon, I'm sure.

Blizzard today revealed at BlizzCon that StarCfraft II will now consist of a trilogy of games. The three games will each concentrate on one of the StarCraft Universe's factions. The first game will be titled "Terrans: Wings of Liberty." The Zerg game will be "Zerg: Heart if the Swarm," and the last game in the trilogy will be the Protoss "Legacy of the Void" title. "[The second and third games] will be like expansion packs, but we really want them to feel like standalone products," said Blizzard's Rob Pardo.each campaign will be very different and contain RPG elements. A bold experiment from Blizzard, but right now, everything they touch turns to gold, so we will be eagerly waiting to see what happens. (Thanks, KaKarotto)

ActBlizzard's UK managing Director Andrew Brown told MCV that the Vivendi office in Marlow UK commences its shut down. While there was fears of mass layoffs, it ended up only a minimum of workers were let go. It stands to reason as the new ActiBlizzard corporation is a money making giant.“We’re really pleased with what’s happened – there are some great calibre individuals at Vivendi and in the end, while some people chose to consider their futures elsewhere, a lot of people decided to join us,” Brown told MCV.

In the latest Blizzard Podcast, the lead designer Jay Wilson revealed that the game is in full swing production. Right now, the team is focused on content, content, content, it seems, while the art team is on to the second act already. Great news, maybe we will not have to wait until 2010 after all."A lot of the team is really production focused now and we're generating content for the most part; a lot of the tech and underlying engine is really solid," Wilson said.

Videogamer spoke with a few different Blizzard executives and they all apparently are saying the same thing. It is not that they have anything against consoles, but they games just do not lend themselves to console gaming. We can see that being true for WoW, but games like Starcraft II and Diablo III, which Blizzard Exec VP Frank Pearce recently told Videogamer.com would likely not hit home consoles, seem like they would port well. The LOTR and C&C RTS games more or less proved this through their Xbox360 success.
